In season 2, unless his powers remain dormant for his entire life, Andre’s son might inherit powers from Andre. Tazer inherited powers from his mother. Therefore, Andre’s son will be 2nd generation like Tazer. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s how Andre’s son’s character storyline develops more as the show goes on

Yeah blood transfusions are commonly used it has a higher rate of prevention of a crisis than taking meds. Hence why sickle clinics and sickle patience normally advocate people to donate blood. Since it mainly effects coloured people it’s important for ppl to donate blood so their more variety of blood types that can potentially help a patient. Unfortunately some people need a transfusion but won’t have blood type that matches them to use so it’s key that coloured people donate blood to help those in need. Love the reaction mate keep it up.

I had a friend with sickel cells who required regular blood transfusion. Unfortunately I couldn't give blood until I was 18 which is when I realised my blood was a special type which was used for sickel cell patients but by then she had died (age 16). I still beat myself up about getting tats and piercings which delayed the donation acceptance periods

I know Tazer makes bad decisions but like you said, he's young and feeling powerful. He and Rodney see their power as exclusive and no one can do anything to them, that's their hubris.

Exactly there wasn’t as much Sabrina in her episode compared to the male characters in their episodes. My only critique is the way the main women characters are written on the show. I hope rapman consults more Black women writers for season 2

As a black Londoner this is a good show, but I’m a little tired of media only representing us as youth gangs in Top Boy and this. It is like the white gaze wants to pigeon hole black British people as this. The Uk has the most educated Black population in the western world, where around 50% of black people in the UK have a university degree, black kids now outperform white kids of the same social class in education too statistically, yet we get constant shows about British hood violence because that is what white people like seeing with black people. UK is now going through what happened in the USA in 1990s when Hollywood was only making Hood films with black people because that is what white audiences like to see. That is why I love the movie Rye Lane. Set in South London, no one is being shot, or stabbed about two normal education black people falling in love in a romcom, that wasn’t as popular with white people because the black people were too normal.

@@nupefromdaville The Black population of the UK is very well educated and 1 in 2 Black people have a degree and is the highest earning black population of Europe, but all you see of black Britain is Top Boy, Blue Story, The Kitchen and now Supacell showing hood culture as if this is the only Black experience, which the movie American Fiction is a satire on, because white people love seeing Black people in the hood and this is not the only Black experience.
@filmgirlLisa

IMO Unfortunately it's the America effect. It's almost impossible for there to be a show here about young Black people where it's not centered around gang/drug/low income culture.

i can definitely understand where you’re coming from but rapman said that he couldn’t make a show based in south london without a bit of gang violence because it’s a reality over there and it just wouldn’t be realistic to not include a bit of it. but, like you said that’s not how all black south londoners live, which is why they have characters like sabrina who’s a nurse or even michael who’s a delivery guy. both of those characters have nothing to do with gangs and actually seem well off so i do think that this show is different from the rest (ex top boy) in that aspect!

Hopefully, they explain Sickle Cell further as the show progresses in season 2. When a carrier has a child with another carrier, there's a very high probability that the child will have Sickle Cell. The more children they have together, the higher the probability. So, what a lot of people who are aware do is test their kids, and they know from childhood that they shouldn't marry someone with the trait. My parents weren't aware, so my big sister bore that pain growing up. We are 4 kids, and all my siblings except me carry the trait. They had to marry people with the AA genotype. Everyone should know their genotype.

Speedness is the best superpower, in 1 second I could kill 100 people but of course I wouldnt, just to show how strong you can be with it and you can even travel in time if you are brutally fast, can get anywhere in the world in a second, run through the sea, heal super fast, etc.

I've only just realised the word connection with SupaCELL and SickleCELL, I clocked it within the storyline and really looking forward to seeing how it develops. 🩸➕️🦸🏾‍♀️. Also proud to say I have Ro blood subtype (needed for people with sickle cell) and I donate blood regularly.
