What temperature can I flat iron my straight synthetic wig after it dries?
@Wigsbypattispearls Жыл бұрын
If it's heat friendly, we suggest around 270 or 280. If it's not heat friendly, you should not use a flat iron. Instead, you can use a handheld steamer and apply steam to change the look of the fiber.

how do you do curly wigs that have a set style?
@Wigsbypattispearls3 жыл бұрын
You wash them the same way as you would any other synthetic but be very gentle. Make sure that you do not brush/comb the wet curls. Also, just your hand to scrunch the curls after you wash the hair. If the wig is long I would suggest laying it on a towel to dry instead of a wig stand so that the weight of the wet hair doesn't pull the curls loose. Best Wishes!

If you are in a big hurry to dry the wig.After you rinse it roll it up in two towels each rolled up an opposite direction and place it carefully at the bottom of your top loading washer and give it 2 minutes of spin cycle.All the water will go onto the towel and then when you spray the conditioner it will dry in like an hour.Follow all her other instruction like the shaking and such.

Is it bad to want a wig because you just don't want to mess with the hair you got anymore? My hair is so unmanageable and curly that when I try to strengthen it, it just goes right back to being curly again so I just quit with it and just leave it alone. yeah my hair looks straight in my picture but that was from taking an iron at 410 degrees to make it that way if not then no my hair will not go straight. I'm tired of dealing with it and I've tried everything with bed head sprays to oils sprays, different kinds of irons and shampoos and conditioners nothing is working for me. My hair is out of control.

We have a lot of customers who wear wigs because they don't want to mess with their own!! You're not alone!!
@cindymaddux35075 жыл бұрын
Yep, same here. I'm tired of spending almost 2 hours trying to make my long hair look decent only to walk out of the house with it up in a pony tail. Not having to go through the thickening products, the hair sprays, expensive shampoo and conditioner, the dry shampoos and other stuff, not to mention the time wasted is more than enough justification for spending money every 9 months or so on a new awesome wig. If you take proper care of them, they will last pretty long. And if you buy a long style, you can trim the ends as needed and it looks as though you have a new wig.
@ev28215 жыл бұрын
I've read that you can soak it in woolite or mix 1/3 woolite to 2/3 water in a spray bottle to condition it as well. What are your thoughts on that method? Instead of using a specially made conditioner.

What is the name of the wig you are wearing?? I love it. Very helpful video. I am gearing up to buy my first wig and am sort of scared. My natural hair was strawberry blonde until I went white.. I am 64.. and now I am going bald! Its getting harder to hide it! I am so afraid if I go back to a red that people will think me vain.. so should I just stay white, or how do I stop being afraid to put a little color back in my life!
@Wigsbypattispearls8 жыл бұрын
Patti is wearing Heat in 12FS8 by Jon Renau. We can't really tell you which way to go on color. This is something that you need to decide. Our best advice is to go with what you think looks best and don't worry about others. Make yourself happy!!

1994abbygirl - I wear wigs out of necessity and just recently decided to go blonder. I was afraid people would think I was trying to look too young for my age. Let me tell you how much better I feel about the way I look! It has put the bounce back in my step! We want to look as good as we can don't we? I honestly feel like it took ten years off of my looks! Good luck with your new wig. I hope you are very happy with your choice. It took me a long time to find one I was totally comfortable with, but I don't have as many choices because I have to have a large size cap and they just don't make many wigs with large caps. Take care!
@susancantorna10977 жыл бұрын
If you think about it -- I'm guessing you really could care less what color wig other people wear. They most likely feel the same way. They are too busy worrying about their own lives to care what color wig you wear. What might happen, though, is that when you pick a bolder color and look great in it, they will want to do the same. All best!!

+Ruthan Plant If it is a Heat Defiant Synthetic it will be fine. If it's a regular synthetic I wouldn't suggest it. The best thing to change the look of a synthetic wig such as to straighten or add curl is to use a hand held steamer. If you get a change watch this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2jVdJyins56eNE.

Wigs by Patti's Pearls I have few questions, really new to wigs, thinking of buying one. Would you wash a curly wig the same way like you did in this video? Do you have to use wig hair products? I have seen people use normal shampoos and conditioners.

Yes, You would wash it the same way. We do not suggest using regular hair products on synthetic fiber. It will dry the fiber out quickly and cause it to frizz. Remember that this is not real hair. It's synthetic fiber (material) so it would be like washing your hair with laundry detergent. Yes, it will take out dirt but it will also destroy your hair quickly.

Wigs by Patti's Pearls Thank you, do you have to use brushes and combs made for wigs as well?

Absolutely! A regular brush or comb will destroy your synthetic wig. On a curly wig we only suggest using the Jon Renau wide tooth comb as this helps keep the curls at their best.

If i wash my curly wig will it lose the curls and become straight?

And if Ibraid it will it become wavy
@Wigsbypattispearls9 жыл бұрын
+Nina Turunen If it is a regular synthetic it will remain curly. If it is a heat defiant synthetic it will remain curly if you wash it; however, if you straighten it with a flat iron it will stay straight unless you re-curl it (even if you wash it). If it is human hair it will change when it's washed (just like regular human hair).

+Nina Turunen It's possible that it may become wavy; however, if it's synthetic it will go back to normal when it's washed.
