Everyone: PJ: Huh, I broke the game. I think this aristocrat build is better than the reanimate deck Also PJ: *Wins through mill*

Here is the trick to building Aristocrats. It's not the number of creatures you play; it's the quality of creatures and the synergies they add to your strategy. You are wanting to generate as much value as possible, and you do this by multiple layers of synergy. The key to doing this is to find card redundancy. I run Teysa, Orzhov Scion, and the bread and butter are free sack outlets - most notably the altars for mana - Blood Artist effects, and a Plan B just in cast your primary win con gets exiled some how or your Commander is too expensive to cast. Think of the deck, and many of the card selections, as a router inside of a network. How many connections to other "routers" can you make within the overall "network"? Some of them are incidental while others are planned. Most of the time it requires doing your homework and deciding what do you want the overall strategy to be? Each aristocrat commander has certain strengths and weaknesses that require some building around, which is why many people build around Athreos because he's the easiest, has the fewest weaknesses, and usually gains the most value in longer games. Outside of all of this nonsense, you're the fun police. Kill everything that hits the board. The only person who gets to have fun is you. :) Here are a few examples of how I've constructed my Teysa build. Example: Teysa + Darkest Hour + Sack Outlet/Altar/Viscera Seer/(Thought Picker Witch + Ashnod's) = Spirits + infinite mana/Scry/Blood Artist Drains/Exile all Libraries Alternate Win Con: Zulport or other BA effect: Sack outlet + Karmic Guild + Reveillark = Kill the Table Another Win Con: Teysa + Ayara + Nether Traitor in the yard + Phyrexian Altar = Kills the Table

I added Syr Konrad to my Tariel reanimator. It's a good finisher with my combo and fuels some self mill for either myself or Tariel specifically as just a good thing to be doing. The last game I got in with it was against Feather and a Chainer BR deck. The Chainer player and I just kept stealing and exiling each other's graveyards. It was crazy XD, but after the game I we realized the exiling graveyards should have dealt more damage with Konrad. Oh, Feather didn't do much because of board wipes.

I think that a self mill Syr Konrad deck with Mesmeric Orb combo would be good

One of the EDH Lounge guys built it and went Mesmeric Orb, Basalt Monolith and the shuffle Eldrazi. Can’t remember who it was though.

Have a similar Konrad deck I run ad nauseam in for a janky win with feldon's cane, just having trouble with draw otherwise.

cut some things you don't need,. I like read the bones, ambitions cost, ancient craving, promise of power, and moonlight bargain as cards, in addition to necropotence.

I don't think I'd call Altar of the Brood underrated. It's literally only useful for what it is being used for: Infinite mill. If you don't go infinite, you don't actually get your opponents into disadvantage, it only seems like that but they don't actually lose anything. And there's enough graveyard synergies in the game, enough combos that revolve around the grave, that I don't think I'd call it good enough if you just mill normally. And if they built their deck correctly, they have at least some sort of recursion for cards that are put into grave and shouldn't be there since counterspells do exist Also Golos should have just activated in response to the Mindcrank trigger.

Fair points, I may have oversold it a bit right there. I guess a better way to phrase it is that, in the right deck, its still very good even before you assemble the combo.
@kurtgrgelwrx83765 жыл бұрын
@@CommanderReplay Absolutely, it's a great combo piece for 1 cmc. Although, the one thing that annoys me about it is that it doesn't mill yourself, which I'd absolutely love in Teshar

Syr Carah? sounds like storm to me :D when you gutshot for like 5... you draw 5 cards, with rituals and stuff, you might be able to go there. and a bunch of earthquake effect.
