Why'd you leave the keys upon the table?
Here you go create another fable

i hope this sends you down a SOAD rabbithole! They're SO good. Toxicity, Prison Song, Deer Dance, and Hypnotize are all great ones. The band split up, but Serj (the lead singer) has some amazing solo music now. Empty Walls and Yes, It's Genocide are my favorites by him. The guitarist and backup singer, Daron, also has his own band now, but I haven't listened to it at all.

This is what it sounds/feels like when my son with ADHD tries to tell me a story about a show he was watching.😂 Love this song. It was my morning alarm for many years, and my oldest still hears "WAKE UP" and jumps up like its time for school.
@Comrade_mommy
@Comrade_mommy 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like me when I was a kid. Then I had my own neurodivgent kid and that’s a whole other level of insanity. Let me guess, he starts in the middle of his story, then catches himself and says oh but it starts like…..then he tells you the end, only to be reminded of a key feature half way into the show. My mom used to make me stop, then told me to run around the house 5 X’s, then I could come back and try again.
@pixie055
@pixie055 2 жыл бұрын
@@Comrade_mommy That's pretty accurate. Key features are sprinkled sporadically throughout the story, and almost never in any sort of specific order. There's also multiple side tracks, forgetting what we were talking about, and remembering a funny unrelated joke mid sentence. It can be pretty chaotic, much like this song feels. I wish running around the house worked for him. Lol

Great reaction. It’s a really visually cool video also. Lastly, chop suey is about how people are judged differently by how they die. Suicide, drug overdoses etc are viewed socially very differently than say a car wreck that “took them too soon”. Whereas a drug overdose somehow implies you’re a bad person. It’s mourned differently and viewed differently. The chop suey name is because like the dish, it’s a bunch of stuff thrown in, just like the juxtaposition of tempos and varying levels of aggression with as you said, an angelic sound thrown in. It’s a bunch of different sounds that just work.
@matt-oo6fu
@matt-oo6fu 2 жыл бұрын
Actually, "Chop Suey" was chosen because the record label wouldn't let them name the song "Suicide." Suey just sounds like suicide.

We were mostly happy in the 90's and early 2000's when musical styles met each other. Peoples were open to new sounds and cultural mix. Now I feel like peoples feel separated by what they like without trying to hear something different but you're proving me that I'm maybe wrong. But don't you feel strange to think that people can miss this song ?

Serj Tankian, the lead singer, is no joke brother. Classically trained metal singer with a 4 octave range (that’s Freddy Mercury, Aguilera, Stephen Tyler range’s). Such a range is so unusual because the human voice is very limited and we use only a small part of it. This makes it very difficult to expand the vocal range and articulate such high notes. Check out some of his solo stuff too….. and don’t forget Marc Martel ;)

I discovered your channel yesterday. Bohemians Rhapsody is the first video I watched and then I went on to check a few others (abut Queen). I have watched countless channels and often find they overreact, and never subscribe to any of them. I didn’t feel that with you, I thought you were sincere and that was confirmed when I saw how much more you knew about the band with each passing video. I love how you interpret the meaning of these songs and find you very humble and smart. So I subscribed. I was also thinking that I would love to see you react to System Of A Down, and here it is today 😊. You’ll love them if you give them a try. Toxicity was the song that made me want to know more about them. I wish you all the best and keep up the good work.

NuMetal was a Mashup of Hardcore punk, thrash, Funk bass, operatic vocals, and record scratching. The pre-era was Prong, Butthole Surfers, White Zombie,, and Suicidal Tendencies. When the era fully developed it became Powerman 5000, Linkin Park, P.O.D., Limp Biscuit, and Rage against the Machine. These guys caught the tail end of that era.

Music can be a wonderful opportunity to share with your adolescents and children. Open up your mind to what your kids are listening to and you might surprise yourself and actually like what you hear. I listen to EVERYTHING pretty much and have opened up the minds of several people I know including my son and his friends, to a plethora of artists they were unaware of. My son brought a "new song" to me when he was about 12 and was surprised when I was singing along to it. He said how do you know this song? I had to tell him it was a remake of a song that was popular when I was a high schooler and told him the original artist. He tried to argue that his share was the only artist who did that song, and Mom had to take him to "Moms Music Camp" for a whole summer and we opened up our line of communication then. Adolescent boys are difficult to reach, and I am so happy that I didn't let the music be a huge obstacle between us like my parents made it be when I was growing up. At age 60 in just a couple months, I have been on a 4-year exploration down the rabbit hole of rap, hip hop, and country rap or hick-hop. It's been a wonderful journey, one taken side by side with my, as of today, permanent ex-boyfriend. Thanks to him and a shout out to Shane Askey, for the wonderful journey we have been on together. I must take a break from it for a while at least until my tears dry up, shock and profound sadness and heartbreak subside and not begin pouring out every time I listen to our favorite artists. It's music that brought us so close together and another woman, his mother, who ripped us apart. Doesn't that sound like a common theme for music, poetry, and movies? Be well all, and please do try this as a method of hopefully preventing a teen suicide as most parents are unaware of the messages in the music their kids are listening to and it can most definitely have a profound effect on their mental health when they have no adults to share their music with. Just a thought yall. I hope it works for you as well as it did with me and my son. We still share music artists, and conspiracy theories to this day.

They wanted to call the song "Suicide", but of course there were problems with putting such words on album covers, so they settled for Chop Suey, which is when you Chop the word Suicide in half, for Chop Sui, its also why they are seen depressingly ate Chop Suey in the video in an unamused fashion, as if to say "The music industry wanted it this way, now we are eating our baby to make them happy"

The original title was supposed to be "Suicide". But they were asked to change it. Pissed off, they named it "Chop Suey" (Suey-cide) and it's purely ironic to see Serj eating this asian dish in the clip. The song is about the fact that when people are commiting suicide and we discover they were drug-addict or anything else involving theyr own responsibility, we usualy think "oh so they deserved it", meaning they deserved to die regardless the reasons why they felt into drugs. "I cry when Angels deserve to die" is all about that!
