I have a very simular setup with a chime strobe and fs1004. The chime strobe is est, but the pulls are pretty frankenstined like that.

Does the Edwards FX-5R only take EST products or can you wire other devices like Simplex or Wheelock? I don't want to make a mistake and buy the wrong devices and never used them.

Derrick Holsey yes it dose wire wheelock and simplex. But that panel you have is FWR and it will fry simplex turealerts and 4903 horn strobes and 4904 strobes. But if you are useing in a real installation. buy kiddie or Edwards devices.

Three things: 1. Great video! Love the creativity in this test! 2. I'm pretty so-so about the Spectralert Advance chime sound. I have an L Series chime and it makes the same sound. It sounds better in person than it does on the video. It's really quiet but would still grab attention because it wouldn't blend in with other sounds. But I absolutely hate it's slow whoop tone, it's REALLY annoying. 3. Did you replace the buttons in both of the BNG-1 pulls? Neither of them look original, they usually have the really long buttons.

Thank you! Yeah I agree about the whoop tone. I feel like it could’ve sounded better. Also with the buttons, the BNG-1 on the 10 zone FireShield was a replacement because the original one had stopped working. The one on the 3 zone FireShield is original. I believe there were some variations with the buttons. My Fire-Lite branded one (BG-8) the long button, but my Notifier ones had the smaller ones.

FWR only makes mechanical horns sound scratchy. It can’t fry or damage the device.
