I have a carbon seat post, also with measurement, but sadly the diameter isn't consistent, so I must adjust the tension (A nice fingerscrew), when going up and down. So I changed to a full, standard size titanium post, though I am a tall man. I just pull it out in full when riding, sawing adjustments! But also being a heavy man I punch it too much while riding, so it sinks a little during that. My bike, a LigthweigthH6LX, for now weighs 9,3 kilo, with mudguards, but I still have ideas to make it ligther. But being a 100 kilo man it is just for the fun of it! Finn, Denmark

HI Finn. That seems to be a common problem with the diameter of aftermarket seatposts. I have this problem on my titanium seatpost, but luckily the carbon fiber seatpost has no problems.

Did you have to make any modifications ? The quoted diameter of this post is 31.8mm (standard Brompton) but the new post fitted to the T Line is quoted at 31.6mm. It looks like it fitted OK.

Hello. The shape of the Selle Italia saddle is pretty. I am also thinking about purchasing it. I would like to hear your thoughts on the Selle Italia saddle in detail.

It's okay if you wear padded shorts. It becomes uncomfortable as a city bike since your sititng on it too long. I sold mine since I was afraid to damage it. We drop our bikes too often lol. It's probably one of the nicest looking saddles. I will be looking into other saddles in the near future. Good luck!

Did you notice the post slipping at all? I bought a cheap aliexpress carbon post and I noticed that it slips a bit. Carbon assembly paste doesn't really work since the Brompton requires adjusting the seatpost so often. I don't have calipers to measure it to see if the post is thinner than the supposed 31.8. I wasn't sure if it was a flaw in the post or just that the carbon/resin-plastic interface isn't really meant to be. I might just have to get a new seatpost sleeve for it.

👩🏼‍🦲No slipping so far. There can be many factors that make a seatpost slip so it is hard to diagnose. I have heard of cheaper seatposts slipping because of the inconsistent diameter throughout the length. It can be hit or miss. I would buy a quality one from a reputable vendor in case you need to get a warranty replacement.

Did you change the sleeve in the frame? Should be plastic

I have the same post and it is slipping. Not sure if changing the sleeve would help.

I just wanted something to match the carbon fiber seat. The titanium ones are more durable.

hi, will this carbon seatpost prone to scratch on surface if you often adjust the height or fold it?

Yes it is. I wouldn`t recommend this on a daily commuter. Titanium will scratch too though. Someone recommend scotchbrite to bring back the nice look on titanium but I haven't tried it.

I wonder if I keep the bottom bung in place, can it help prevent taking off the seatpost through the top (and I can use the saddle height insert)? Could you check it for me please?

The bung is slightly wider than the carbon fiber seatpost so it should work (I dont have an insert to test it). But it is not necessary since the carbon fiber seatpost has measurements on it (unless your trying to protect the bottom of the seatpost).

I wipe it down after each ride so it has not slipped so far. I don't remember the original weight but it is much lighter.

I have the normal B17 sizes both in copper rail and titanium rail. If you get the shorter nose then carrying the bike unfolded on your shoulder would be uncomfortable. I can't carry my T Line on my shoulder because it is a short nose Selle Italia saddle.

They are carbon now with ceramic bearings. They have been working out great so far.
