The album cut is fantastic and holds up to his 70-73 material. The only thing that could have "improved it" in my opinion was if he had put the solo he plays here live on the album cut. I 100% agree with you in regards to the single version he released in order to omit "cocaine" from the song though. That one sounds hollow and poppy for some reason. Nonetheless, Bolan rocks and there were great tracks on the Dandy album.

@#WalkAwayI agree! "Teenage nights or heights" or whatever he says makes him sound like a paedo! And it wasn't his fault either, it was the powers that be that thought the word COCAINE was too controversial at the time - Really? Similar to The Stones when they had to change "Lets spend the NIGHT together" to "time" together to appease the American audiences and controversy - what a joke!

Marc Bolan was such a tiny guy, like Angus and Malcom and Bon (of AC/DC) they were all tiny, so we’re their fingers, maybe that had to do something with their mastering their instruments (Bon of course playing the recorder in “Fraternity” his final pre AC/DC band.
@3D_Blu-ray_Bunker3 ай бұрын
And didn't old Bon play bagpipes on It's A Long way To The Top? I think AC/DC was an opening act on one of Bolan's '76 or '77 TV shows, can't remember which, maybe that Rollin' Bolan special. Anyway, I really love this performance of Dandy.
