Sometimes I reel mow my lawn in the winter, just so my neighbours avoid conversation with me. 😉

lol gotta maintain that crazy neighbor status! Though normally I find it starts conversations with them! Probably still the crazy one though...

Is RD at the dog pound? Should we take up a collection for him so he can turn the heat up and not have to wear that stocking hat?

Great podcast! I really enjoyed it! The robotic mowing tests would be very interesting.

Great show guys, I live in Hudson County NJ just outside of NYC and just east of the city of Newark in a town called Harrison, Ryan THANK YOU for the years of guidance that has made my lawn look 1000% better, now for my comment I have been mowing once a month in December, January and February on a warmer day this winter, nothing crazy same setting I used in the fall / early winter and I have mowed on a warmer day say temps in the 50s and lows near mid to upper 30s with no frost for days, the benefit has been a nice clean look to the lawn and I been pretty much green all winter, my next step since we are near Mrch is to Frost / Snow overseed with holding off on any renovation work until late March / Early April were the animals cause some damage last fall which has hunted me all winter. So, the moral of my story is no damage with the winter mowing at least in my case but I guess your mileage may vary and it's case by case. anyway, Thanks Again !! - Tony M.

You need a robotic mower. I feel like most of the KZbin lawn influencers are behind on this. You can set it to mow just a tick higher than you would reel mow so you can still mow anytime you feel like it but you can also not mow at all and go on vacation if you want. Get back to enjoying your lawn instead of it only being a chore. You want an RTK or EPOS (no boundary wire) mower. Husqvarna is what you should start with. It would be great if you had a couple different brands to compare. Mammotion has a new version coming out this year with cameras so you can keep an eye on things when you aren’t home along with improvements like cellular coverage.

Great Podcast Ryan! Had it on while restringing and setting up a few guitars. It's been mild up here too, barely any snow, this time of year we usually have upwards of 3 feet, but we have less than 3 inches.

If I’m mowing late into winter is for leaf cleanup more so than to cut anything off. Crazy it’s still not dormant yet here. It’s coming soon I believe. Great show!

Would appreciate it if as you change topics you could add chapters to the video so I can skip through to the relevant content I’m looking for rather than having to guess. I know this is a simple feature to implement on KZbin videos and raises the quality imo

I used milky spores 4 years ago and am very happy with it. I've seen 2 grubs since, and both of them were dead. According to the label, I'm good for another 6 years. Great show thanks!!.

I went with robots later in this season and I love them (bought two to handle almost an acre of grass). I've found the cut quality is fairly dependent upon the speed setting as well as the right amount of overlap (using a GPS style mower that does perfect lines). It also affords me more time to be more attentive to other things. I can say the mowers I have HATE wet grass - it's my only gripe.
