Giz- top video which I really enjoyed (just like you enjoyed the flight). Keep em coming! May I be permitted a friendly observation? You claim at 10:01 that the current sensor was wrong and put this down to being able to manage to get more than 3000 mAh out of the battery. It is possible to extract more capacity out of any pack but it risks damaging the pack. Your average cruise current of about 3.4a seemed about right to me; really good in fact given that you have two motors running; my nano talon used to draw that on a single 5 inch prop! Then you also are surprised that 11:07 that your plane stalled. At that point your battery was all the way down to 10.8 volts (so 2.7v per cell on a pack that is only rated for 10c) and probably on a slightly chilly day by the looks of things. What I am trying to say is that it is possible to push past your battery's stated capacity (as you did) but that is a dangerous dance with fate. Yes Li-Ion cells can go down past 3v but performance (incl punch-out), even if that pack had been made up of something like a Sony Murata VTC6 cells (unlikely), will severely suffer below 3v in cooler temps. Take a look at "Mooch"'s battery testing- particularly the constant discharge graphs here: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/threads/bench-retest-results-murata-vtc6-15a-3000mah-18650.975864/?fbclid=IwAR2LCh5r0S9kK-cQvTSmiLRufKvswvlEqjiqFskk7srvVssT01oB7ey4X7M

I am also at the "If someone wants to give me an HD system I'll take it" point in life. It would be cool, but I don't have that kind of disposable cash at the moment. We need RC layaway.

I love how some many people didn't go HD because they didn't want to use DJI (me included lol). With the centering issue with the Walksnail OSD, it's not an Orqa issue it's an issue with the Walksnail firmware because I had the same issue with my Walksnail goggles. I too had to decrease the AHI&HUD by 1 in INav to get it 'center' and I disabled the sidebars and crosshair because I could get it lined up. As for the estimated flight time and distance indicator I've had that working for years now and it works pretty well on all my boards (F722 Wing, F405-WMN and H743 Wing V2). I could make a video on my FPV Channel on how to set it up correctly cause the instructions are a bit long to explain. But I can confirm that it does work fine once setup properly. Another great video, really enjoy your narration flights.

Haha, glad to know it's not just me. I don't deny DJI make great products, but I don't like the way the company operates (they're trying to be like Apple). As for the estimated flight time indicator, it looks like I still managed to miss a setting lol. Someone in one of the other comments pointed it out to me, so I'll try again on the next flight lol

Glad to know I'm not the only one that's been slow to jump on the HD bandwagon lol. Tbh I one of those people that thinks ''if it's not broke, don't fix it''. As analog has always been fine for me, I've not felt any need to upgrade to HD. But at this point I think I just don't wanna be left behind lol
@13FPV
@13FPV Жыл бұрын
@@gizfpv Indeed, analog is fine! Until you fly a friends HD system... lol. My only wings that are still on analog, are my long range wings at 1,2Ghz. The Walksnail stuff is good for at least 8km on stock antennas. Enough for the casual flying days!

Fun flight!!!! Never a good time to buy stuff.....having said that, I've just bought some Skyzone O4X goggles - mainly for using them with the 1.3Ghz groundstation. They arrived today - Ohhh what a step up from the Eachine 200D's I've been using. I'm too invested in DJI digital for my HD stuff to buy yet more goggles. Mind you I could add the Walksnail module to the Skyzones! Your googles seem to be recording in NTSC rather than PAL maybe - that would squash the video up.
@gizfpv
@gizfpv Жыл бұрын
Haha yeah you're right, there's never a good time to buy stuff, but with everything going on atm (cozzie livs) it's especially difficult. Oh nice, slightly jealous of the Skyzones, I've heard lots of good things about them. For sure gonna be a big step up from the Eachine's! Yeah my goggles are doing something strange regarding NTSC/Pal, just odd that the OSD looks fine in the goggles but doesn't look right on the DVR. I'll have a fiddle with some settings and see if I can resolve it

For remaining flight time I think you have to add some extra information on the advanced tuning tab. Under auto launch on the left there’s “Battery Estimation Settings” with parameters like “Idle Power” and “Cruise Power”. Those needs to be filled out. If you did that as well and it still doesn’t work it must really just be a bug.

A great fun flight. Nice info on INAV 6. Regarding the horizon indicator, wonder if related to video settings (PAL vs NTSC, as PAL has more vertical rows). Would be interesting to place another OSD element on the horizon (goggle view) as a reference, to see if also displaced in VDR. Aspect ratio of recorded video might also have an effect (compare v x h resolution of both goggle and VDR video to see if exactly the same). To bad three is no option for OSD to be recorded as separate video, as this would offer the greatest flexibility in video editing post flight. Being digital, Avatar/Walksnail might be able to offer such an option. (?) Noticing your current draw appeared closer to 6A, and have see ~5A from others flying T1's. (could also just be related to battery mAh reading not being calibrated) Wind, airspeed, or propeller choice can effect. More likely, just be that it's a cold day. Li-ions are more sensitive to delivering amps when cold and below 50% charged.

As it so happens, last night I fiddled with the NTSC/PAL settings on my fpv cam, and was able to fix the HUD problem. Just needed to put the cam in PAL mode and then reposition the HUD on Inav. It now looks right both through the goggles and the DVR. As for current draw, yeah temperature could be having a effect, but it also occurred to me that it could be because I don't have a capacitor on the FC. The FC came with one, but for some reason I never installed it. Might try popping it on and see if that fixes the problem before doing anything else
@AerialWaviator
@AerialWaviator Жыл бұрын
@@gizfpv Great news regarding HUD. Don't expect capacitor to have difference as to how FC reading current. Likely just current parameter in INAV needs calibration. "Mr.D - Falling with style" has one of better videos on the topic.

@@gizfpv now that I think of it I commented on the wrong plane lol it was the aero scout that I did 32 minutes, and when I landed I still had 3.6 volts per cell still left , I believe li ions can go down to 2.5 if I'm correct so I still a good bit of time, I'll try to get a flight with the T1 ranger today

@gizfpv Жыл бұрын
@@jimmytheriot8978 Ah haha, yeah that would make more sense, the aero scout is a bigger plane right? Yeah Li-ions can go down to 2.5v per cell, although it's safer to aim for 3v per cell. I'd be interested to see what kinda flight time you get on the T1 with a 3500 pack. I'd guess you'd get longer than the 40 mins I got with a 3000 pack
