Quad turrets were basically a necessity for french ships. Docks to build ships were actually pretty short so they had to put as much fire as possible on ships that were limited in lenght. Solution ? Quad turrets.

Sarp Kaplan in real life its not much of a problem. In an actual naval battle you would almost never fire a full turret at once, ripple fire was much more used, as you had to adjust your aiming constantly due to the evasive actions taken by the enemy. So even though it messes up with the accuracy you would have had to adjust your aiming anyways. As for fire support for the land you have no reason to fire a full broadside as you aren't being shot at back, so you can take all the time you want to fire at stationary targets... So historically it wasn't that much of a disadvantage, but it is much more relevant in an arcade game

The inconsistency is due to how vertical dispersion(not sigma, its another hidden parameter) is calculated in the game. Basically, if you have lighter shells, but faster shell velocity, the vertical dispersion will be very large, while if the opposite is true, vertical dispersion will be very tight. If you notice, NC is the one of the very heavy shell, very slow shell velocity type, hence it’s high consistency on good aim.

Tried her on PTS, and loved her... I did try also the secondary build: 32mm plating + low hp + mediocre citadel protection + low HE secondary pen + 150 hits yet only 3 fires => NOPE! As far as I am concerned, there are only 4 BBs with which you actually can (and should) go for a secondary build, all of them are German, and all of them tier 7 or 8... My build: RoF mod, Preventive maintenance + priority target + Adrenaline rush + Superintendent + Concealment expert + Manual AA + Fire prevention and enjoy roaming free on the high seas. btw, full broadside potential has better angles backwards than forwards, in fact engaging 2 turrets firing backwards is possible at only 25 deg + good concealment (but not over the top OP) + best speed (when boositng) = Best possible kiter / flanker Oh look, a tech tree BB where to leave my Dunkerque captn... I loved her, yes guns are all over the place, I just think WG did not want to get too much hate with yet another stupidly retarded BB line (RN BB, looking directly at you and hoping for a nerf on the retarded 419 guns), Alsace might do with a +0.1 sigma buff, but meh... if she is not perfect right now, it is pretty close for me, and far from OP. I think WG for once has managed a decent, not OP, interesting line which will heavily punish noobs (I bet you see Richelieaus bow tanking at 25 km or Alsaces sitting broaside at 18 km from a Yamato from next week onwards) And last but not least, she has dethroned the Iowa class as the sexiest looking BB XD PD: I share the same opinion in regards to what ships appeal on this line and which are just a grind: Lyon, Alsace and France. 1 cptn prepared, 1 to be gotten by collection, 1 to go...

I found the secondary spec Alsace with a secondary flag, the secondary range goes to 11.3 KM. It can be similar to the Bismarck. The bad part of this ship is the cruiser HE spam as you pointed out. I don't think this a bad ship if played right. Its not a tanking BB

yep, and the 105mm german Secondarys don't have the 1/4 HE-pen-rule, so there shouldn't be a big different (if they would have, they would be able to naturally pen T8+ DDs everywhere)

Its not the ship but the gunnery that gives the fire chance from HE rounds. To understand, ships have ships boats, wood decks, paint, and other flammable materials that you may not be aware of. And in WoWS most ships, minus the British CA's, have an HE percentage chance of causing fire by their guns. Signal flags and commanders skills can enhance that fire chance percentage by the shooting ship. Some ships suffer repairs such as the October Revolution. It all depends how many ships are shooting at the enemy target vessel and how quickly those vessels can put out the fire, and for some heal from the damage.

The detection in smoke firing range sn't that weird really. If you have 4 guns oneach turret firing at the same time, they will give off more concentrated bursts of light when firing than guns that are spread out more.

About the Pen compared to the Germans, i agree. I have The Tirpitz and the Richelieu and Rich’s Main Guns give me much better long range pen results. Long range Ciadels are very rare on Tirp, but Richelieu makes these often.

Yet, uncitadalable germans tend to randomly catch this citadels from pretty strange shots: right in the nose by 203mm gun, from the 20km, etc. Looks like citadel itsels is pretty strong on them, but gun mounts can be penetrated from any position like cheapest port girl.

Holly Kronstadt will easily lose this hp, when broasided to bbs. It has 230mm armor, so ap will penetrate it easily and he will get oneshot quite often. So 82300 hp doesnt mean that much

What part of my post was unclear? The Kronstadt is NOT matched vs BBs - it's matched vs CL/CAs. And it has the punch to threaten them from all angles. Sure it might be vulnerable to BB AP (though 230mm belt is light BB grade rather than cruiser grade - and a 34% TDS). It also has the usual high tier cruiser consumables so CVs are gonna be every bit as reluctant to strike it as a Donskoi. So how can it be considered balanced???

Martin Larsen Survivability is made up by HP, armor, agility and stealth HP: godlike Armor: very good Agility: garbage Stealth: ok - good (but because of the agility you are kinda forced to take ruddermod3) All in all: quite good, but not op Survivability can bebalanced ot by the firepower, don'tforgt this: Sigma: 1.8 (every other cruiser in the game expect for Graf Spee (1.9) has 2.0) this means bad RoF: bad (20s reload) Dispersion: well, I think she will get like Graf Spee battleshipdispersion, but let's cut this out Shells: very good Vo: very fast (with fast shells this means also a lot of overpens like Roma) All in all: good with cruiserlike dispersion, ok with battleshiplike dispersion She will surely be strong, but not close to op. (And yes, theoetically i should take AA in survivability into account, but come on, it's probably average and how often do you see CVs?)

1 bow tanking never existed - and angling the bow was the way to go like in WOT. Hence id say that Yamato class are actually the only ships that play by the historically rules... - cause when Yamato's fight - they angle their IS-6 styled frontal citadel to allow for optimal armour. 14.3x overmatch? - overmatch should be 3x - like in WOT if you do the actual math - but that would kill cruisers in game... Meanwhile we have HE that hits at any angle whatsoever and and we don't talk about that... At least HE in wot bounces above 85 degrees to normal.

As for now, Lyon and France are the only two ships - out of the entire branch - that I personally find interesting. Will need lots of free XP (or luck, so as to get the Lyon mission). Besides, the spood beast consumable should be beasted, as the current 8 percent increase is just ... meh.

I cannot imagine what WG could be going on that WG will not release the French BBs until patch 7.2. My AA for the 152mm was hitting 7.5K unlike the US 7.2K. As for the ships line. Seems to me that France should be tier 9 and Alsace should be tier 10 with slight buff to her.

Alsace is completely unable to perform as a T10, due to her gun caliber. You would have to make her basically a completely new ship. 381mm is not a caliber you want at T10. Even for T9 it doesn't really cut it anymore, that's why you Need 12 of them. How much would you Need at T10? 16?

well they could re-module the France like the Dunkerque with two mains forward and the 3x3 152s in the rear and call it a day. If you play WoT you'll remember the FV 215b 183 was the only turret TD on the British line. which didn't make sense so they came out with the badger to replace it. The France is a weird ship that isn't the French flavor.

It's been an issue ever since the German BBs. The most accurate and consistent BBs are still the IJN and USN lines, which is why in competitive T8 all you ever see is NC and Amagi and T10 it's pretty much exclusively Montana. WG keeps adding these horribly inconsistent potato BBs with turtlebacks and underwater citadels and to balance them they add guns that can't hit the broadside of a barn. It's a depressing path for the Battleships.

Well trust me,, any bb has inconsistent guns,, lately had some games in US bbs,, and yeah at around 7 km I've had 2 out of 6 shells and they were overpens,, I mean sometimes beeing close range actually makes your accuracy worse cause the shells come out the barrel almost 45 degree.. Either way any bb I've had bullshit despersion or pure lack of pen,, so many shatters on the side of turrets and bounces

Okay Flamu, can you explain why in your streams your mouse aim jumps to a different location when you shoot? You do get close to a spot but then the mouse jumps some 200 pixels or so most times. That's aimbot to me because my game doesn't jump the aim. Also, I'm not potato but good try LOL. In this particular video your aim doesn't jump at all but many of your videos do. Maybe stop using aimbot and you are the potato? Also, games are easy on PTS if you are any good at all. But you know all this stuff. Thanks O'Conner

They look rather boring and frustrating to play, like an entire tech tree full of Dunkerques performancewise. Having bad dispersion is one thing, but their penetration seems to be extremely random as well. WG did not really put that much effort into french ships so far if you ask me. The cruisers are as basic as it gets, long range HE-spammers which are also not that exciting to play. Aigle is also nothing special. I guess they are running out of ideas for new ships.
