Since this ship was so requested I decided to make a commentary. Highlighting strengths, weaknesses, specific synergy combinations, whether legendary module is worth it or not and my recommended build. Enjoy.

Its EVEN better. Flamu responds; "Yeah I'll talk to them"!! Npw is that not the best dialogue ever in World of Warships chat? Bet he feels silly for his nooby comments about BB AP and HE. SO frustrating when you play BB, shoot HE in a ship other than UK BB (sometimes there is good reason) and have the players from both teams accusing you of not knowing what is going on.

@@alcel24 Because Yamato, with her 460mm turrets, can overmatch 32mm of armor which is the value the Yamatos bow armor has :) To shoot the Zao he had to either turn his guns or show broadside to the Yamato.. so dealing with the Yamato which was even low on life was the better option :) He handled that correctly imo

@@alcel24 Nah, the Yamato was already on low health, and was a huge threat to him. Forcing the Yamato to go away or die was what he needed to do in order to keep himself alive. Absolutely right call to burn him.

That small clip of the harugumo is the best showcase of why that ship, and the T8 and T9 siblings are broken beyond redemption. No DD in this game has ever had the ability to punch through BB extremities, but those get that ability because of reasons - with ungodly DPM too. They should revert the change to those 100mm guns. Akizuki was perfectly fine before with 1/6 pen, Kita and Harugumo would be fine without it too. Right now they're just broken.

Thing is, this Yamato player is watching this video and don't comment. He was referring to the Flamu as his light in the darkness, and suddenly he discover himself as annoying person to laugh at from his favorite youtube WoW channel. I don't like it, may be he wasn't right, but still, i feel bad for him.

Legendary upgrade is pretty good, this ship is all about speed, flank and reload. Not really range, shooting over 20 km still being random. Finally a ok review of a fr ship.

Just from the short time ive played this ship in space events it's really good Short reload and nutty dispersion combined with the speed is enough to carry games

I use her HE more often than I do in my Montana against heavily angled BBs, probably due to the reload and dispersion. Also, I like to brawl French BBs with my IFHE Kurtfurst even though generally I can't use my rear 2 turrets.

Just some extra information on how Republique's and French battleships in general's turtleback works, it is a much sharper angle compared to the German one (my guess is between 70-80 degrees) which unlike German turtleback gives it good protection at long and midrange but the flatter the impact angle gets (usually the closer you are) the easier it is to go through the turtleback without bouncing on it which is the complete inverse to the German one where the steeper the angle the lower the chance of bouncing on the internal turtleback

The secondary build of this ship is the best in the game... using all 4 secondary specific skills/mods you get over 12km range and ability to melt DDs within 20 sec. Brawling in this ship vs even F Der gives you the win. Try it out!

I have one Tier X ship and is Republique , got her by accident getting richelieu from container , and enjoing grind thrue Franch BB line , and I am happy , 523 games played on her , made over 1.8M xp , unlocked legendary mod (sold directly...) , she is citadel magnet (Citadelique) I get few citadel every game , and fires ? , I do not have such problem often I just plan ahead , Republique is made to kill cruisers one hit one citadel minimum , and have exelent secondary with 4 point captain skill , Close Quaters Expert I get often on dd's , I have no complanes , enyoing playing Republique I find my perfect match .

yeah, once my team doesn't have BB that strong enough to take shots, i rushed in to open the "chance" for my yamato and my other cruisers straight into montana that sailing away and des moines, alaska, and moskva i guess? yeah they focused on me and forgot that my team still there behind me and other try to flank (fucking tall islands covering enemies) only i got sunked, but others alive, Montana is sailing too far so we didn't pay attention to them nice teamwork,,kinda rare to find player that kind read map and situation even in T10 kinda stupid move but it somehow works "If i got sunked as well you all sunked" the only thing that i remember -speed boost activated -full speed

I actually ran a complete Secondary Build on the Republique once. It was quite fun in brawling fights. I surprised a lot of BB's with this, especially german BB's, who are supposed to be the best brawlers. But now that i switched to a more tankier built i saw my avg damage go up quite a bit.

It's surprising that the secondaries are pretty good? m8 it has the longest range secondaries in the game getting out to a max of 12.1 km. The only reason the germans even compare is because of the special HE mechanics. Aside from that the secs on the rep are better than the kurfurst

Disagree that AR is "less effective at lower reload times". Your DPM will be increased by the same percentage as if you had a long base reload, and DPM is what in the end will dictate how fast you can put the hurt on the enemy.

It's kinda funny to see someone latch onto somewhat good advice without understanding it. "Don't spam HE in your BB" is in general correct, but there's certainly times where HE is the best choice, and a nose-in BB you can't overmatch is a pretty good time to use it. "Never use HE" is about as dumb as "Only use HE".

Does the Priority Target skill works when someone is aiming at you with torps? I tought it only works when someone is aiming you with guns

It works when you are directly targeted, it does not activate if someone is doing a non-lock torp launch. A launch involving either targeting another ship while firing torps at another, or just staying in the torp launch indicator as it does not actually target ships so skilled dd captains usually use this method to keep enemy ships from realizing they are being torped.

Secondaries are nice, not as great as GK with IFHE but they do work well against DD's and when brawling. But is it worth speccing for it? Questionable.

as a republique main (yes im proud of my mighty baguette) if you plan on engaging on a brawl, specially with GK which is the worst case scenario, you need to complete some requirements first. the enemy must not have a damage con, hence you need to force him to use his damage con before you get into brawling range, the reason for this is because, republique's secondary is not as strong as GK, but the fire chance is disgusting. even if you don't kill him on that pass-by shoot out, its impossible for the GK to not have 2-3 fires, that alone will hurt GK if you manage to get into cover leaving GK burning, I did this a lot of times and most of those GK users are salty AF because they are always burning to death after our pass-by

Secondaries are only barely worth putting any points into on GK, so I really don't think they're a good idea for the Republique...at least in terms of actual utility. It might be fun to mess around with just for the laughs, though.
