What's really great about this tutorial is it's a much more noob friendly approach to white armor. So many tutorials for white armor do all the white details first and any darker tone after which leaves very little room for mistake for newer painters.
@TableTopReadyYouTube3 жыл бұрын
I’m really glad you think so. I always think about the best order of things rather that painting each detail at a time. I think about the model as a whole. In reality I’m a super lazy painter so my goal is to paint in as few steps as possible in a way I can be a bit messy and carefree about it but still have it look good 😁 that’s my style 🤪

@@TableTopReadyKZbin agreed. I find it difficult to realize what effects some painting steps have in other videos, or when I paint myself. This takes the guesswork out and shows that every step is worth it (or can be skipped if you personally want to save some time).

That guy looks stellar. Really pops off. Not as shiny as a regular Custodes, but still a very striking scheme that will look the business in an army. Also really digging your choice to go with clear bases for your models. Some would call it lazy, but as far as I'm concerned the clear bases just mean that they will fit in on any table.
@TableTopReadyYouTube3 жыл бұрын
I'm all about bright and vibrant. I like using the clear bases as well for my videos because it puts all the focus onto the miniature and some part of it is laziness haha so I don't have to worry about doing the base as well. a couple of my own armies do use these bases and it does help them fit into any kind of themed table

Good tutorial! Jist picked up a bunch of cistodes second hand and wanted to ise thos scheme for them, though Om thinking of trying to simplify it further and replacing everything between spraying and the sepia recess shade with a very thinned down skeleton horde contrast wash. Could even go over the gold too with little difficulty, will have to experiment.

skeleton horde contrast would work. I would still use lahmian medium as contrast medium dries quickly. make sure if you're not going to paint a base colour then you'll need to not miss areas with the spray. good luck :D

great tutorial, just a question tho, isn't there other options for the highlight on the golden parts? silver doesnt look that good for my liking and it looks like, uh... a silver shoulder that was painted gold on top
@TableTopReadyYouTube3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I agree there are other ways of highlighting gold and it’s personal preference. I never think the way I paint my miniatures is the only or best way. I just hope people can gain a bit of Inspiration for painting their own. I use stormhost silver personally because I like my highlights to really stand out. You could use liberator gold or Auric gold if you wanted to avoid silver.

Just a quick question, what are the things you're using to sub-assemble your models? I see a small spike coming out of the arm socket where you're then able to glue the arm on. What is that called and where perhaps can I get it? This is definitely the way that I'd prefer to put my models (Especially Custodes) together.

@pagesofkelly2 жыл бұрын
Can you use regular acrylic paints and distress paints or does the paint have to specifically be for miniatures?
@TableTopReadyYouTube2 жыл бұрын
The only thing you want to be aware of is what kind of paint it is. Mostly paints for miniatures are water based acrylics. As well as citadel you have the Vallejo range and army painter range. You can paint your miniatures with anything you want really. The benefit to a range like citadel is the variety of what’s available to use. People use oils, enamels etc etc. Just try things out. If is a cost Reason then the Vallejo range is a great price wise.
