I've sent this video to my younger sister. She'll turn 40 this year. Starting now should help her not to be shocked by the pigmentation that I started to notice at 42. Our skin is very different, but I try to give her tips. I'm very oily, and she's dry. Vit C serums made my skin look almost flawless again. I've been pretty lucky with my skin.

Thank you so much for this video! I have Addison's Disease (adrenal insufficiency) an auto immune disorder that is fatal unless I take steroids daily. One of the side affects in developing hyper-pigmentation spots on my face when out in the sun. The first summer I developed these, we were at the beach and I had these huge brown blotches on my face. The dermatologist gave me a cream with hydroquinone 4%. The tube was almost $200! And, it takes at least 8 weeks of use to see results. While at Walmart I found a 3% hydroquinone cream called NADINOLA for around $5 !!!!! Now, my face is clear and I use a spf 100 sunscreen especially made to go under makeup. I think every woman should have some sunscreen in their purse in case they get caught out in the sun! (It is important to know that you cannot use hydroquinone every day or you can develop problems. Just 8 weeks at a time, then take a break)

Which of your treatments or products helped fade your freckles, or was it simply being more consistent with sunscreen and therefore allowing old freckles to fade and preventing new ones? I discovered you a few weeks ago, am loving your videos and Insta! Would love to have a lengthy discussion of menopausal skin. Thanks Trinny!

Hi trinny, I love watching your videos. especially your fashion videos can you please more of these. eg on different types of body shapes, faces, heights, skin tones, races . what would be best suited to each of these and general fashion. also the quality of your videos aren't so great . perhaps get yourself a HD camera? also love your videos on salon services, like eyebrow threading you did. other skin aesthetical services available and how they work. maybe you could actually try them out and upload videos on it? would be great. thank you and love your personality and style . xxx

T R I N N Y thank you trinny. I'm having problem with my skin. I have alot of dark skin colour on both sides of my temples and my corners of the lips. tried every thing to remove or lighten them such as with chemical peels, retinol, creams etc. it's either made my skin darker colour or left me with more dark marks. I've been searching for a beauty salon where they dp lazer skin resurfacing, fraxel etc. but cannot seem to find any. woukd be great if you could find these treatments and places with good value for prices. I'm in need of getting this sorted and need help.

Hi Trinny, I have melasma from birthcontrol for the past 4years. Can't seem to get rid of it. See many ppl have the same problem. No one solution. It worsens if I don't wear an SF# 30 (This one is everyday under make up, La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen) or more just made of Zinc and Titanuim. Anthelios XL SPF 60 Melt-In Cream(Mexoryl) this one is for holiday. I tried, triLuma from my doctor, rentinA and hydroquinone 4%. All helped lighten, hasn't darken, but these products have made my poors larger and the skin on my cheeks dry and loose it elasticity. I'm 47 and used to look 10 years younger, now my skin is showing it's age. Trying 40% at home lactic peels. Vitiman C, Just about every product and I feel I am just throwing money away. What treatments have you recieved with your doctor that were effective?? Dermabrasion, laser? I'm ready for the next step. I miss the days of not having to wear makeup. It was such a luxury.

Hello! I purchased an oil serum which contains 20% Vitamin C, as well as Vitamin E and a few other beneficial skin care ingredients. I have been applying it in the evening for the past few days, and I am wondering, Trinny, is it worth applying it in the day time as well? I was reading on online forums that this is wasteful due to something to do with long-term absorbancy? Thank you.

I have an alergy to Vit C can't eat oranges or use Neroli. Face cream with Vit C causes Herpes Zoster like blisters, in my eyes and nose.
@Nubianette7 жыл бұрын
That's a shame! I'm allergic to oranges as well, but I'm fine with neroli and the vit C serum I use. I wonder if it's the source of the vit C or if it also had orange oil? Check for non vit C acids, perhaps, then spot test. If you have a reaction, don't forget to get a refund. Good luck!

Thanks. Yes I think I'm going to try some testers first, It sounds so good but I'd hate to fork out such a large amount for something that may be useless to me
@Nubianette7 жыл бұрын
+rattylol if you react badly, get a refund. Find out if that's possible before you buy it. For me, I'll have a fine rash the 1st week after using a vit C serum. Sunday Riley has a new one that has vit C. Keep in mind, it may not work for you and look for other products for your pigmentation. Good luck!

I was looking for treatment of hyper pigmentation and I found you. Skeptical about CE Ferulic by skinceutical because of the price range. Does it really help in brightening your skin and getting rid of pigmentation? That’s what they claim it will do. You have a very beautiful skin. My pigmentation is very light but it bothers me. I just had RF Microneedling (one time treatment only so I don’t expect too much from it). I don’t want to use hydroquinone. I would appreciate a response regarding CE Ferulic and hyper pigmentation. Thank you.

Hi Trinny, please look again at The Body Shop Vitamin C Serum. I think you didn't push the vitamin C powder into the serum (as described in the instruction leaflet). In the 15 minute of the video I can see the product in your hand is clear in color, which should be yellow and aslo smell citrusy. Give it another try. ;) Btw I've tried it few months ago and after about 7 days of daily use I saw visible results on my skin ;) Wish you all the best Trinny.

:(Why is Hydroquinone Bad? Without a doubt, hydroquinone is very effective for treating hyperpigmentation issues. However, its safety is also highly questionable. The reason hydroquinone gets such a bad reputation is because studies have shown that hydroquinone has some carcinogenic effects when applied to skin. It is considered cytotoxic (toxic to cells) and mutagenic. Studies have also shown that long term hydroquinone use can cause exogenous ochronosis, which is when your skin turns a bluish and black color. Hydroquinone not only inhibits melanin production to help lighten skin, but long term use can actually damage your pigment cells. Other side effects of hydroquinone use include: Increased exposure to UV radiation Sensitivity to sunlight Increased risks of getting hyperpigmentation Contact dermatitis and skin irritation Thick, leathery, and bumpy skin Because hydroquinone decreases the melanin pigments in your skin, your skin becomes more sensitive to the sun. This increases UVA and UVB exposure, which in turn, increases the risk of getting more future hyperpigmentation, especially if you don't use a photostable, highly protective sunscreen at all times. Hydroquinone also turns toxic when exposed to sunlight, so if used, it should only be used as a spot treatment (not all over the face) at night. Aside from exogenous ochronosis and sun sensitivity, long-term hydroquinone use is also known to cause skin to get thick, leathery, and bumpy. Short-term side effects of hydroquinone include redness, irritation, and contact dermatitis. Because of these associated risks, hydroquinone has been banned in many countries in Europe and Asia. In the US, 2% hydroquinone products can still be found over-the-counter, but 4% (which is usually the maximum strength) hydroquinone products are only available with a doctor's prescription.
