Referring to a recent theme, there was a great example of a king walk yesterday at the World Rapid; Pragg v Murzin, Round 12. The touchdown analogy was very apparent!

I am a Patreon supporter and love your content. I appreciate quality over quantity and really enjoy, and learn, from your analytical approach. I just looked at the WC 2024 Rapid match between Murzin and Caruana playing the Sveshnikov and am curious on your take where Caruana went wrong. Perhaps it is just as instructional to look at losses with the Sveshnikov to understand the strategy better? Just a suggestion 😁.

Thanks for your support and the suggestion. I promised myself that I was going to take a short break over Christmas and the New Year (so what am I doing here now?!) but I’ll take a look in a few days.

Hey Daniel, I already wrote in the chessable forum but didn't get an answer there. In the 5. Bxc6 Rossolimo with h3 and d3, what should one do if white castles move 8 instead of playing 8. Be3? I looked at this line with a friend of mine who plays the rossolimo and it just seems like a huge improvement for white, because black doesn't have a nice way to get e5 in and if 8. ... b6, White has Bf4, which is a much better square for the white dark squared bishop than e3.

8...Ne8 9.Bf4 f6 10.Be3 b6 11.a4 e5. The knight will head to d4 by going to c7 then to e6 or b5 depending on how play continues. Black doesn't want to play ...b6 as it is a waste of time. So Black only plays that move when they have to defend the pawn.

As @xgtete correctly says, there is no need to play ...b6 if the pawn isn't threatened. 8...Ne8 is indeed a good move to swing round to the middle: e8-c7-e6. Once the knight reaches d4, as usual Black is fine.

I wrote a book "Anti-Anti-Sicilians" but the publishers told me that's like "Sicilians" 😙

Ciao Daniel for Christmas, I was gifted your book on anti-Sicilians (I also have the course on Chassable, which I started studying this summer). I wanted to ask your opinion: what do you think about the alternative 3... Qc7 (to control e5) and after 4. 0-0 a6 5. BxNc6 dxc6 6. h3 e5? And if you don't make any more videos, I wish you a Happy New Year!

I'm not keen on moving out the queen at such an early stage in the game! There is a danger that Black will get punished.

In any case, I hope you enjoy the book!
