Let’s not forget that the JHS PG-14 is also based on the Super Bolt ( and haunting mids).

Wonder if they still will be offering that after they discontinued the SuperBolt.

@@LivingroomGearDemos I hope that they don't. It's one of their best pedal.

@@TheToneLounge yeah, good one! The SuperBolt isn't mentioned on their PG-14 page anymore, so maybe they changed the circuit. As I understood it, they were struggling with parts for the SuperBolt.

The guys from Anasounds have a KZbin channel called Palf where they do... Many things but also artists recreations, they made a QOTSA one!

There is also the a Angry Fuzz from Visual Sound. Discontinued, rare but still affordable. You can add a broken tone independently of volume and gain. And it is not a clone of any circuit.

@@hidikitalks i really like this one. Can be tricky to work with sometimes and have less gain than the one portrayed here, but sounds so nice. Very underrated.

@@ianalves9256 I absolutely agree. It needs to be reconfigured nearly every day and is very particular about what pedals it wants to work with (for my use case it needs a buffer before it, otherwise it robs all highs). I actually see the lack of gain a pro though. I like that it doesn't really affect timbre, rather just a clean boost. Sort of like sculpting the saturation with the voltage starvation and bias offset then the gain knob innocuously just adjusts volume. @LivingroomGearDemos , you may want 2 of them.

Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop has internal controls for each transistor so u can bias it in lots of different ways

I use a EQD Dirt Transmitter to achieve a similar effect it has adjustable bias that goes from Overdrive to gated fuzz. it does cool stuff to the peaks of your signal give it a try :)

Manufactured short supply = manufactured demand. There are lots of pedals and other options for getting that type of sound.

27 volts tells me that it could be a Space Echo 201 Preamp. I've built a couple of those, and they are just as cool as the EP3 preamps. If you have a voltage starve pedal/unit, you can also use that on a lot of stuff in order to achieve similar results. Gating = Too Low Voltage, making it shut down when you are not playing, than activating the circuit as the inflow voltage from your guitar awakens it, by bringing the total voltage in the circuit above the threshold for shutdown.
