Tactical Frog FXD unboxing

Been wearing this watch (black) for about three weeks now. It gets a lot of wrist time for three reasons: 1) the dial is gorgeous, really special. 2) because of the strap and the 100% titanium case it is the lightest, most comfortable watch I own. I have some heavy stainless watches that I love but for long term comfort this is the best 3) the lume is great, equal to my Orient and better than my San Martins. I use the bezel every night to cook. It feels crappy but for some reason feels better going clockwise (?) which I'm not used to. Got it during the last sale - would buy it again, no question.

Welcome to titanium. My Zelos Mako Titanium also doesn’t have the greatest bezel action- from what I’ve read, it’s a material issue. As someone mentioned, a hardness coating would really be needed on this to keep it from quickly looking beat up (the Mako is amazing. Another Ti watch I had was terrible after some months of use)

I really love the blue Pelagos (not the FXD version), so I wonder if the blue version of this is a similar tone? It's a little hard to tell from pictures online. Love the countdown bezel, but I'm not a fan of fixed lugs. Very limiting.

I'm waiting on mine. Didn't know about the countdown bezel or velcro strap (thought it was a nato). Enough differences to justify another dive watch - well at least that's what I'll tell myself.

That depends on the use case. This watch, well the real FXD, was designed for underwater navigation....a dual timer bezel wouldn't be very useful in that situation...lol

I got one and i really DON'T want to go for the FXD. The Frog FX is amazing and looks better than the FXD for 1/20th the price. And Tudors velcro strap replacements cost $200 each, which is just ridiculous.

The bezel action aside, the watch doesn't look bad at all. Nice finishing on the titanium case. Is there some kind of scratch resistance coating applied? Given the price of the watch my guessing is no.

Looks like it's just me, but I think that the block indices on the TF look clumsily designed/manufactured (too large and seemingly irregular in filling) and therefore take up too much real estate on the watch face in comparison to those on the Tudor. I'm not a massive fan of Ti watches anyway, so I'll save my money for something less limited. as mentioned elsewhere in the comments, the SM 004LE hommage to the BB58 is fantastic vfm proposition if you are in the market for a 90% of the watch at 10% of the cost of the original.

This is not anything close to the actual FXD by Tudor. These are made by former fake watch manufacturers in China. You get what you pay for.
