Y'all are by far the most informative you tube fishing channel. It's not about fandom, it's about bass fishing here. I live on the opposite side of the country from y'all but still get so much from your channel. It's a very different game here but none the less bass are BASS. The principals of the predator are the same. Keep it up. Thanks guys. Awesome channel.

Your info at the end is priceless as usual, but I learned the most just from watching you fish from 1:37 - 14:44! The spinnerbait has become my number one fish bass catcher since watching this video. Im graduating from college soon and my family asked what they could all go in on for a graduation gift. First thing that came to mind was if pitch in a little towards the gift then maybe I could experience a day out on Clear Lake with Matt Allen! So, hopefully this summer (mid June) ill be in the presence of the legend himself!!

Because I know you guys really value fish care, you can make use of your net as a fish-friendly landing pad when you swing fish. Most of the newer nets are made with a material that doesn't damage the fish's slime as much as the dry boat carpet.

Hey, Matt. So, not too long ago I got me a 7'2 MH Exage and I put an Abu Revo X on it. That particular model to me feels a lot like heavier power rod. I've found that rod really likes 1/2 oz jigs. It says it'll throw 3/8 and it will but I always start at that 1/2 oz size. I love Exage setup!

i used to have terrible confidence in spinner baits cause i never caught anything on them whenever i threw them. The reason why, i only threw it one way, chuck and wind. Once i started varying my retrieves, start and stop, slow roll, start pop stop slow roll pop pop, i started catching fish and now i have confidence in a spinner bait.
@norcalbassnwithrioblanco47997 жыл бұрын

LOVE the fact that you've posted this today... So far this year, I've been killing it on a 3/8th oz. spinnerbait with a #6 brass willow and a #3 silver colorado (Yes, those numbers are correct...) Our water temps haven't even broken 50 yet, and I've thrown lots of other choices, but haven't caught anything near what I'm putting in the boat with this one ugly off-yellow spinnerbait. In fact, later today, I'll be posting the footage of the 6 lb. 9 oz I caught on this ugly thing just yesterday!

Nice! The spinnerbait is one of my favorite baits for big bass! I rarely catch bass under 1lb on a spinnerbait. With most other baits I catch many fish under 1lb (unless it's a jig, a 6" or bigger swimbait or other big baits). I caught my PB 15 years ago on a spinnerbait and the same year caught one near the size of my PB!
@tacticalbassin7 жыл бұрын
Nice! They love that spinnerbait
@mcaetano20007 жыл бұрын
I caught my 2 biggest on the same spinnerbait: a spinnerbait with a chartreuse head and a red and gold skirt, with 2 silver hammered colorado blades and a chartreuse soft plastic frog as a trailer. One was caught in clear water and the other in dirty water... I know the spinnerbait doesn't look like a crawdad, but bass here really like to eat those red crawdads and it seems I catch bigger bass on red spinnerbaits than on other colors...
@mcaetano20007 жыл бұрын
Can you use some red skirted spinnerbaits with some red trailers that resemble crawdads in a body of water where bass eat red crawdads (like the Delta) and tell me the results? I'm curious, because I think you would start to catch bigger bass on them...

great video! We use spinnerbaits a lot in Louisiana and that pause and popping the rod tip definitely draws more bites. In that dirtier water you ever throw red blades on a white or red spinnerbait? Last month on Toledo they were crushing red spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Lastly, that smallmouth you caught in the tree looked full of eggs and mud on her belly. Late stage of prespawn ready to drop the eggs or just hanging out in the bottom of the lay down?
