This is the second installment of an ongoing selection of songs Tad Lathrop and I had recorded during a particularly creative period in 1984-1985. The first, "Eventually About You," can be seen and heard here: • Tad Lathrop & Don Gill...
Tad began composing the outlines of this new song in the spring of 1985. We recorded several guitar takes on home tape recorders in both Tad's Brooklyn and my Manhattan apartments from April until a final version emerged that August. There were no lyrics at the time, so the song was given the placeholder title "Bop Bop."
There it sat for eighteen years until 2003, when I overdubbed the rest of the backing tracks. Tad, having moved to California in 1991, then added lyrics and vocals, and the song now had a proper title, "Don't Stop Now." I then mixed it all together.
And there it sat again for another eighteen years when we put together a video to accompany the song. A simple concept, a subway journey in New York City.
Closing-credits photograph by Lynn Saville, August 2003.
Tad and I have a CD we’d love to have you consider purchasing. Here’s the Amazon link: tinyurl.com/5c...

Sometimes we forget that you have a life outside of archiving Letterman. ;~) Very nice tune. And a cool video too. I haven't been on a New York subway since I lived there in '83. Thanks for everything you do.
