Ok so. This video is basically about how she was at the peak of her fame in 2016 and had been insanely famous for nearly ten years at this point (since she was 16) and so when she received a lot of public backlash with Kanye round 2, she hid away for a year. She kept an insanely low profile (even hiding in suitcases if the conspiracy is true lol) and that invisibility freed her to just be herself and discover how she would live without other people's approval which she's had to account for since she was 16. The magic note from the beginning was from Joe (her boyfriend) which makes her invisible and she ends the video in a dive bar like the one they first met in because she found her true love whilst her reputation was terrible but he still liked her just for her. My interpretation on this video... (it will be long but i'll try to make it easy to read lmao) Background info: Taylor once said that Joe, her current bf taught her how to live "a very ordinary life". Remember, Taylor became famous since her Fearless era, she was a teenager so she probably had forgotten how she lived before that. - First scene: she was tired but still smiled in front of camera. Then, it's easy to miss but there's a guy (representing Joe) walked thru the crowd and gave her a piece of paper. - Scene where Taylor was with fans before a fanatic jumped on her. Taylor enjoys spending time with fans (she used to invite fans to lunch & occasionally invite verified Swifties to her house etc), but Taylor is known as one of the celebrities with *the worst stalkers ever* . She had stalkers crashed into her gate, broke into her apartment and slept on her bed (lucky she wasn't home), climbed the stage while she was performing, tried to grab her ankle off the stage etc. Thus why Taylor's security is especially tight. - Mirror scene; before she started the derp faces, she read the piece of paper she got, which I assume contains words that we probably would never know Joe told her, but in the video it's like a spell that made her invisible. Remember Taylor and Kanye's phone call incident and the hashtag "taylorisoverparty"? Taylor disappeared for like 2 years, not even paparazzis could find her, which was represented as if she became invisible in the video. However she is a natural performer and she loves being around people, so eventually she became lonely. She also once said that whenever she write a song, she always have the excitement to immediately share with people, so that could be a factor as well. At the end, she read the note again to undo the spell, cause this time she's coming back but with Joe.

Great description! To add to that: It also has to do with how she felt free during that period of time to be her true self out of the public eye and she could be open and vulnerable with Joe who truly knew the real her. So when she she re-enters the public eye, she has someone by her side who knows the real her and can keep her grounded and thus her focus has shifted so that all she sees is him when she enters the bar instead of worrying about all the people staring at her who she previously would have worried would judge her disheveled appearance, etc. But she doesn’t care since she’s with the person she loves who loves her unconditionally.

Everyone would always comment on her dancing at award shows. And Taylor is pretty goofy and funny, you can see it in some interviews and her old vlogs

She disappeared for a year, I think this is a representation of what she got to do at the time that nobody could see her or have news about it. She was happy without ''fame'' and in the final part can be a representation of coming back to the mídia following the drop of reputation

Love it!!!! Not many superstars would act this goofy but Taylor is goofy and nerdy. I won’t rewrite the meaning but I’ll add that the video ends where the song begins “dive bar on the east side where you at?” One of the most famous lyrics and a recurring line in her songs often mention a dive bar. She and Joe would meet in secret, she would wear disguises to not be recognized. The beginning of a relationship is delicate especially when one is one of the most famous women in the world. She wanted him to like her for who she is, the goofy nerdy Taylor that dances like that, she can be herself. After 5 yrs there are very few pictures of them together. She wants that private except for what she puts into songs.

It is a bit out of season, but you guys need to watch the video for her original Christmas song "Christmas Tree Farm". She uses a lot of the home video footage from her childhood at Christmas when her family lived on a Christmas tree farm. The point of this video for this song is to illustrate how everyone thinks they know who Taylor Swift is because of her constant media attention, but nobody except her family and close friends really know who she is and see her as a person. Everyone else just sees the image and much of that was created by the media misrepresenting her and portraying her as someone she is not. Joe Alwin, her current boyfriend of over 3 years or maybe 4 now, saw through all of that bullshit and loves her for who she truly is.

At the start Taylor was passed a note the feeling is it may a note from her bf to meet at the dive bar. The guy in the hallway trying to grab her from the back is about how there is lot of stalkers a guy a dj from a radio station actually groped her during a meeting and greet more for why she has to have security where ever she goes. The invisibility starts when she is sitting at the mirror the note she had started to giltter. Taylor see she can’t be seen she feels freedom from the fame and just to be normal. Her dancing is part of her being free. At the dive bar she meets her bf and now she can now be seen.

I think when you are enormously famous, it can feel like no one really sees you, the real you, but they see only the image of you, and often distorted images that people project on to you, images that others may unkindly and with cruelty project out in to the world about you - that have nothing to do with the truth of who you are - but sadly may be believed by many; you can feel like an object, a thing, and not a real human being.
