To say that the Persona series is popular is putting it mildly. Persona went from a niche spin off of a niche series to the third biggest JRPG in gaming. Persona 3 reload sold 1 million copies in the first week it was released and that's not even counting game pass and digital sales

There's not enough words to describe just how life changing this series is to all of us. In a world where we are more disconnected, apathetic, and pessimistic than ever before, the Persona series is that teacher, and that friend that we all need to show us that no matter how hard life may try to kick us down, we are all in this together. We all have the potential within ourselves to grow and take back our lives.

Yo this vid made me buy p5 and you hit the nail on the coffin!!! i was shocked to see a character (ann) go through the same shit i went through highschool, such realistic and relatable storytelling is fucking awesome

I was introduced to Persona through P5R. I can't even imagine how proud Persona fans before P5 felt when that wind fall of fans joined their community. It's like seeing your kid succeed spectacularly 😁😁

@@advikverma496 Without P5R, I would not have bought two different obsolete consoles just to play P4G and P3F. It made me go back to appreciate the games I missed on release.

Back in 2015 I had attempted to end my life during my senior year of high school due to the stress of my home life with my IBO courses. I ended up graduating midterm but for years afterwards, i was battling depression, where i wouldnt eat, bathe, or sleep properly. To top this off, I had undergone surgery to remove a tumor from my chest. One of my only friends that id talk to at the time took notice of all this, and gave me a bunch of videogames to play, as well as his playstation TV. Among them were persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable. I started playing persona 4, liked it, and stopped so i could play persona 3. The amount of emotions in me that i hadn't felt in a long time resurfaced as i played the game more and more. By the end of the game, i felt like i had an epiphany, it was late 2017 around then. Since the theme of the persona series is all about connections, i decided to go to a place where i could make connections easily. College. I got mental help, applied to college, and met my current gf there, along with my current friend group. I am beyond grateful to this series for changing my life for the better.

I was introduced to the Persona series ever since Joker was announced in Smash Ultimate. After that, I became a fan of the Persona franchise ever since. I have beaten Persona 4 Golden, P5 Royal, P5 Strikers, PQ2, and I recently beaten P3P. I still have P5 Tactica, PQ, and P3 Reload in my backlog. Their stories, characters, music, gameplay, and most notably, the art styles are the best aspects I've ever seen in a video game franchise. I'm studying art/animation in college rn, and I sometimes like to incorporate Persona 5's art style into my projects (like my profile picture). The Persona franchise will always be one of my favorite video game franchises of all times.

9:25 that sentence made me realize something P5 theme is about rebellion and flipping the table on the adults (to a certain point of the game) and somehow the game sold more than the older series SMT just like the game theme and I don't know but maybe thats why the game title wasn't smt persona 5 to keep on the game idea

Eh, no, Persona never was SMT Persona, that was just and US marketing strategy. Persona 1 was Megami Ibonroku Persona, but that's just a first game name, similar to Devil Survivor 1, after that all games didn't had SMT in the title. It happened with Digital Devil Saga Avatar Tunner being named SMT Digital Devil saga instead in the west.

The thing that hooked me into finally giving it a chance was actually Morgana. In stories and especially in rpg's with a big cast I like there to be variety and have the fantasy setting truly embrace itself by having non human main charachters. So when Joker joined smash and Morgana came with him it peaked my curiosity alot. Thankfully by the time I made my decision to try it Royal was coming out so I waited till it released. Now I absolutely love the game and have replayed it so many times. Reload gave me the perfect chance to try 3 and that game was awesome too.

Persona 5 Royal didn't hit me super hard, but I played Persona 5 Tactica and man that story hit me like a stack of bricks at the end.

My first time playing persona was in 2011 when i was still in middle school. I played persona 3 portable on my PSP, at first i was only playing it because it had good graphics(at that time) and the characters were so cool. But the ending made me tear up, so I decided to play once more. And ong it was the best decision of my life. I explored every aspect of the game especially social links. And it was an eye opener for me it made me more understanding of other people's feelings and opinions. It molded me to become a better friend, a better person in general. I am what I am today because of that. For teens and young adults or even adults who're playing this series, persona is an escape. But for me(when i was a child) this was an education. One of my favorite if not my favorite game to this day.

I played Persona 3 during my first year of uni. I was so depressed, the only thing I could do aside from lying on the bed and staring at the ceiling was to play this game. I just grinded mindlessly. The day after finishing it, I tried to kill myself lol

I owe it to Persona 3 to be here, I was going through a bad time and wanted to give up, the story seemed beautiful to me, the fact of making us question why and why we live, not for nothing they say Persona 3 is a game "to love life or end up hating it".

persona is such a good game, I’ve beat two games and I only figured out it even existed last month (p3r took me roughly 100 hours and p4g took me around 73 hours 😛) very worth my time
