Well they did for 2020 MAMA (well "soccer" for Americans lol) perform it at the Seoul World Cup Stadium with a full marching band, cheerleaders, & drumline. But I get what you mean cuz sadly that was during the pandemic so there was no audience present and Suga was out for a couple months after his shoulder surgery so he couldn't be there with the guys. Tho I really respected the way the handled that during all the performances he missed at that time, they just played his part thru & left a space where he should be. That's not actually typical, most kpop groups have another member cover the part & they change up the choreo to replace the missing member. But they were like nope we can't replace a member or their part. They even carried a large pic of him to every interview, award acceptance speech, event & even during lives when they were just having fun or goofing off lol. Or they would call him during those for him to say hello to everybody when he had healed enough. He had surgery for a torn labrum from injuring his shoulder in a car accident back in 2012 before they debuted. He'd been dealing with the pain 8-9 years with injections & even more tearing all while dancing all their difficult choreo. He did a live after the surgery talking about all of it and why it took him so long to decide to get the surgery also he knew he was going to have to do his military service soon so I think he wanted to be recuperated before then.

This was the first video they ever shot in LA. The location is the Sepulveda Dam in the LA River basin. It's just north of LA in Sherman Oaks. It has actually been used in many movies and TV shows. The music was recorded by the UCLA marching band and concert band and the Blue devils drum corps. The choreography and the backup dancers are from a dance troupe called The Lab. They have also been involved in many other music videos for other artists.

They used a gospel choir and the UCLA band in the recording and the Blue Devils for the MV along with The Lab backup dancers. The girl in the first close up shot was the choreographer who was only 19 at the time.

When BTS played SO FI Stadium in Dec. 2021, my sister and I went to the Sepulveda Dam where this was filmed. The best part was; we weren't the only ARMY who decided to go take pictures there. It was really a fun day. I really hope you 3 get to attend a BTS concert. BTS are incredible LIVE!

The camera flip to the sky and then the dance break was so EPIC! After they sang along to this on Carpool Kararoke, I had to check out the MV and that's how I got hooked on BTS. I know you're super busy getting through the MVs, but the behind the scenes is interesting and the performance in Grand Central Station for Fallon's show are also great. Jimmy Fallon said that when he hugged the BTS members after they finished the performance he could feel V's heart beating (I think it was V) through his back! It's one thing to record a video where you have a break between segments, and it's altogether another to perform the whole song with a break! There are quite a few amazing live performances to see as well, never fails to impress with the stamina, synchronization, and vocal quality in the live versions. ALSO, the woman in the center at the beginning is Sienna Lalau, a choreographer and dancer (The Lab) from Hawaii. She also choreographed Dionysis and Butter for the 2022 Grammys.

The production that went behind this, with the marching band was really awesome! This could have been an epic performance live in their scheduled concert back then if not for the COVID-19 outbreak which led to the cancellation of their supposedly biggest tour. BTS used Carl Jung's analytical psychology to write the lyrics and make the official MV. It talks about accepting our shadows, which are those repressed parts of us. We can only evolve when we truly accept these repressed parts of ourselves. That's why the lyrics say "leave me with my everything" Only when we accept everything that is part of us can we find peace. By the way, the drums announce. the battle that will be faced... just as it was in the Middle Ages that soldiers were warned to prepare for battle with drum. 🇧🇷💜

This video came out first featuring the choreo and the Official MV came out afterwards. The MV is also really well done and focusing on imagery that tells a story in a way for the song itself. If your really curious I highly recommend the Official MV too but yes many really like this one cuz it showcases the choreo. I think you guys are really gonna love the dance practices & live performances from these guys cuz like Alex was saying you get so see the emotion they bring in their dancing and singing more. This song came out shortly before the Pandemic hit and was gonna be a big performance song for their World Tour Concert of Map of the Soul which of course was canceled. They ended up not getting to perform this live in front of an audience for a while and they had been preparing very hard with their Map of the Soul: 7 album because it was suppose to be one of the last things they did before going in the military which they were preparing to do end of 2020 or beginning of 2021 but the Pandemic killed all those plans. They were revisiting alot of things from the beginning of their career and performing early old songs at awards shows something they had never been able to do before cuz at the time of debut they were major underdogs. One of the big award shows in Korea they weren't even invited to that first year or 2nd if I recall even tho other lesser known rookie groups got invites. Anyways, if you want to know what it'd be like for BTS to perform a half-time show cuz I think these guys would blow a lot of people out of the water, check out the "ON" performance for 2020 MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards).

When they were starting promos for this album, MOTS7, and showing clips of this video in early 2020 on the TODAY Show, it’s what first introduced me to BTS. I started checking out their MVs & performances after seeing this performance in Grand Central Station on Jimmy Fallon (they shut down GCS at 2am & Jimmy said he could feel JungKook’s heart pounding through his back when he hugged him afterwards!) Sienna Lalau, the female dancer in front right at the beginning choreographed this and is part of In The Lab, that is based in LA. She has worked with them several times, did the choreo for Run BTS & was with JHope at Lollapalooza. Her choreo is always 🔥

If you liked this, imagine doing it live - which they've done more than once. My favourite live is the performance for Jimmy Kimmel SNL (?) where they closed Grand Central Terminal and danced in the hall at 3-4am. I think they had to do 3 or 4 takes to get it to their satisfaction, but at the end they could no longer stand. The lyrics of this are very personal and actually there is a lot of symbolism. It is about how they have had to so many struggles, criticism and pain (including physical pain from overwork and injury, as well as mental anguish from stress and many examples of abuse) and about their determination to overcome it all.

@@candicesmith-mackenzie6303 Yep definitely don't wanna mix those 2 guys up, that Kimmel guy made an ugly racist joke about BTS and pissed army off, this was a few years after they had them performed there in 2017. Needless to say they have never been back to Kimmel's show. Jimmy Fallon has always been very respectful to the guys and probably why he is the last man standing so to speak of any of the American late night TV shows, he is the only one left that the members will go on his show. Suga, Jimin, & Jungkook all went on his show to promote their solo albums in 2023. Suga going is a huge sign cuz that guy don't play no games or take crap from bs people, he literally would not waste his time going on a show if he didn't feel 100% comfortable around the host.

Dicen que “N.O” (canción de los comienzos de BTS de su era más hip hop) se relaciona con “ON” , en La primera dicen No a La prision en que los jóvenes viven por las expectativas de sus padres de que tengan éxito académico y esa presión y horas dedicadas al estudio entre colegios y academias privadas no les deja respirar, de hecho el suicidio juvenil por esa presión, ha sido allí un gran problema. Me impacta la letra cuando SUGA dice: “Quien nos ha forzado a pisar a nuestras amistades para llegar a la cima?”O “de verdad una gran casa y coche me hará feliz? E ir a una universidad prestigiosa en Seúl hará felices a mis padres?” ….Y en “ON” un BTS ya exitoso, hablan de la “hermosa prision en la que ellos mismos se han metido” al lograr su sueño de ser súper estrellas, “a cada paso que suben a la cima su sombra sus miedos crecen”, pero a la vez dicen a sus haters, “Sabes que no puedes detenerme porque soy un luchador” …”sube a la cima si quieres destruirme”… y que “traigas el dolor o intentes hacerles daño” que no les importa, lo aceptan es parte de su vida como artistas y “ahora saben cómo enfrentarlo” y SUGA también dice “aunque caigamos nos levantaremos…no nos importa lo que digas” y es genial cuando JK habla de “tomar un respiro en donde yace su dolor…Todo lo que es, su sangre y lágrimas lo da por seguir cantando…y Ha tomado el control sobre ello…” Son letras geniales sinceras y comprometidas con distintas “prisiones” a las que se enfrentaron y enfrentan ahora!
