The best thing about this build is that the motorcycle remained as close as possible to the original and that's what I appreciated the most 🔥

Y'kno I'm not even a motorcycle guy, I love american muscle cars. But I have the utmost respect for any person that has the mechanical skills to be able to take an old bike and turn it into something simple, clean, and original. I really admire that you're clearly just doing this in your apartment with what space and time you have. I've seen your other videos and the bikes you build are absolutely beautiful. Forget all the shiny bells and whistles. The bikes you're making are beautiful as just the raw engine on a frame that they are. Keep on keepin' on.

I like this build because of its basic simplicity in building it and it’s appearance. This proves the average individual can do quality work and do it on a budget.

You made a nice clean looking bike Sir!!! Back when I stripped down my KZ 1300 to a racer, I removed the front (drivers) pegs and welded attachments to the frame and ran my shifter and foot brake to the rear pegs (as well as welding the pegs solid). That way even if someone ask, I couldn't carry a rider (passenger). Put on a 6 into 1 header, pulled the guts (baffles) out of it, removed the turn indicators and everything else I could. Only had a tach on the triple tree (Ain't got no time to look at a speedo!!!). I had the drive shaft and rear hub gears changed by a pro (I'm a country boy!, I don't know anything about such stuff), and she'd top out about 165-170 m.p.h. The reason I know this... That's what I was clocked at. Lost my license for a year, had to pay a crap ton of money to the state and was told if I was ever caught speeding again with in the state they'd revoke my license permanently. Glad I wasn't ever caught afterwards.

It’s very cool work, of course! but I have only one question, why have you paid so much attention to the tuning of the carburetors and the exhaust system, but you did not do the engine overhaul? regardless of its condition, cleaning channels, changing rubber bands and general diagnostics would significantly increase its lifetime and ride comfort. why not?

I used to resurrect motorcycles I would find sitting in the backs of garages in basements or covered up in the back of the house while I was working on my job which took me from house to house to house for years. The best way I have found to remove rust from inside a fuel tank is to first remove the petcock, and then put in 100, and exact number so you know how to count them when removing, screws nuts washers, along with a few cups of kerosene. And gently rock that mixture back-and-forth holding the fuel tank at all different angles. Always use magnetic washers and nuts and screws so you can remove them from the fuel tank with a flexible magnet, then you can count them and make sure you get 100 pieces out of the fuel tank. When you are finished, place a magnet in a reachable part of the fuel tank, and leave it there forever Preferably near the petcock. That magnet will catch and hold any residual rust you may have missed that comes loose. If you are ever going to put a motorcycle into long-term storage, completely fill the fuel tank so there is no air in the tank, which is what Rusts the tank from the inside out.. Another thing I have learned especially on Yamaha XS 650 motorcycles. Check the grounding strap for the battery and where the grounding strap attaches to the frame. The XS 650 connection to the frame was not that good from the factory back in the 70s. This would cause the wire harness to melt because when the writer would use the starter button, rather than the battery ground strap to the frame completing the circuit, the wire harness with all of its tiny wires would complete the ground, and those tiny wires are just not made for carrying that many amps. The result was melted wire harnesses on two of the machines that I bought and resurrected Also smell the oil that is in the engine of last time. If it smells like gasoline, don’t even think of starting that engine on that old oil. These old bikes are known for a petcock is leaking fuel which somehow finds its way inside the engine at times. When resurrecting two-stroke street bikes. Especially three cylinder Kawasaki‘s. Just keep in mind those crank seals are old.. make sure that you can get the crank seals and a place that can rebuild the crankshaft to replace the bearings and seals on those old Kawasaki triples before you buy the machine.. I would not waste my time trying to resurrect an old CB 350 Honda twin from the late 60s into the early 70s. I was a Honda service mechanic at a very busy dealership, and my specialty was all of the 350 Hondas that came in for camshafts under warranty. Honda sent out a bulletin to all dealerships back then suggesting that the parts department keep seven top and rebuild kits including the camshaft for every 10 350s they sold.It is very rare to see a 350 Honda twin with more than 20,000 miles on the original camshaft.
