you rock. Great info. Once I physically understood that everything is like a constant cascade down, like a waterfall, my zhan zhuang practice became so much deeper and way more nuanced. Still have a ways to go but that was a huge breakthrough

Thanks, very helpful. For reference my experience with HME, 5 plus years online course, two camps, two weeks with his top U. S. teacher, one weekend workshop with Curtis. Thanks again; in two days since finding this my return wave is improving greatly. This is not to detract from what others have taught me. Maybe I missed something or did not understand what they said. This is why it is good to have other teachers in the same system. Thanks!!

Yes. Sometimes you just need to hear the same lesson worded in a different way. Sifu Adam has spoken about 'sinking creates rising' in many videos. This is just one way I explain what that means. Many times I've had that moment where I would ask him 'do you mean to do 1.2.3.' and he would say 'Yes, that's what I've been saying to you all this time' :)

Is sinking and the returning Wave simultanous ?

Yes. Sinking creates rising.

Thank you for the detailed description and the beautiful pictures 🙏 Some also describe it as a fountain and the pressure of your partner or opponent adds water from the outside to the already existing cycle of water in the fountain ⛲️🔃 If I may ask: How long does it take to be able to do this in the standing practice? And how long does it take to maintain this state in your TaiJi forms or TuiShou? I am slowly understanding this more and more, but I still feel very very far away from being able to fully enter into this state in my standing practice.

Yeah that's a difficult question. Much like 'How long is a piece of string.' The reason why it's hard to give an answer is that some are faster than others. The basic formula is 3 years small accomplishment. 10 years big accomplishment.

Thank you very much for your careful answer. This already gives me a good understanding, that the beginning phase is the more difficult one until it starts to progress more. Kind regards and happy new year

Do we have to be able to perceive the tension to be able to release?

Every part of the body can be released more. There is no such thing as being fully released.
