If Taiji makes his cookbook, I will be one of the first ones to buy it.

@@taijiskitchenAll the best for the project ! You'd be successful with it in France, for sure, I'd see to advertising it broadly with some selected bookshops. You've attained a "Japanese cooking demystified" level, if you'll forgive the comparison. And on the other hand, Japanese gastronomy has flown off the handle, in Paris (price AND quality wise...), so it's time we delve into real, healthy, delicious every day fare, and you'd be a hit ! I could easily translate it, I'm totally bilingual, especially in culinary matters 😋! ❤ from Paris

I read it as Wasabi Mochi. This looks delicious. I often host Japanese students and your channel is my go to channel to cook Japanese food for the students.

Fun fact, my mum met a Japanese lady when taking French classes in Paris, back when I was a teenager, in the 70's. They became friends, and this lady introduced us to some Japanese delicacies, among which sashimi (and we still knew what "fresh" fish meant, back then 🙄), and I fell in love with it right away. She also apologized for introducing a "strange" dessert, saying the Japanese aren't that good at sweets (my mum was a fairly good cook...). I believe she hadn't even sweetened the kinako, so it had a liquorice bitterness, in contrast with the sweet jelly, and I found this delightful ! As a Greek, it reminded me of a highly sophisticated Rahat Lokoum 😅! She was watching me-and so were my mum and brother-scarf one piece after another, I couldn't stop, and she was so intrigued, she found it embarrassingly bland, compared to French Patisserie and even our Greek sweets, she'd keep apologizing, and had a hard time believing I wasn't making fun of her. So I'm SO grateful, for you broadcasting of the recipe, and delighted to find out that so many people out of Japan, are as enthusiastic as me, about these. I had never thought I 'd come across the recipe one day, on KZbin, and get a chance of making it myself.! Thank you for thinking of it ! ❤from Paris

An American audience will never find a food described as "slimey" appealing. Also, there are no degrees to uniqueness. Something is either unique, or it's not. (Think it through.) Having said all that, I'm going to make this for our international food party we're having at work next month (along with several other of your recipes).

Do you think getting an authentic Japanese short grain rice on Amazon is a good idea? I can’t find the real thing anywhere else

I don't see any problem on that. I buy some of my food online.
