GREAT Vid... The one thing I am not sure about, to activate a Menhir, in say a three player game do you need all three in the same location, or only one (with the others using food, magic etc.. to the character at the locatiion).

According to the rules all characters must be present. But note that costs can be shared. So if I have no magic and Another character has 2 magic and the cost is one per player that character can donate magic for me, same with all the required items, energy, food, wealth, etc... However, I like to play on story mode, and have further house ruled it that we don’t all have to be at the Menhir. But the official rules say yes, all must be there.

What does it mean when it shows 2 symbols instead of 1. 31:59 you play THROW which shows 2 practicality symbols?
@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay. Just seen this message. When I play the Throw card, it is the snake symbol on the left which connects to the cube on the Throw card - thus, I get a cube. The 2 snakes to the right is the start of the next key. On its own, it does nothing; it only affects the next card played. And 2 snakes means you must have a practicality of at least 2 to connect that key. Hope this helps.

At 26:45 you say "Receive any rewards and share any loot." Does this mean Rewards go to ALL party members? To be clear, these are NOT shared, correct?
@tonynguyensmiles
@tonynguyensmiles 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, Rewards scale to party size, so everyone receives it. Loot is shared. So, in the example, at 26:45, all party members receive 1 Exp and the 1 Food is shared (in other words only 1 person gets the food). See rules pg. 14 for one reference, "Reward & Loot. What you get for defeating this enemy. Rewards apply to each player, and Loot needs to be shared between Party Members."

You do not have to take actions in order. That bit in the rules is just a guideline to help mitigate downtime. It's been clarified by the designers that a character can take multiple actions in a row if the group is in agreement.
@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
Kenny Felts yep. Isn’t that what I said? I’m just going off what is in the rulebook. The script for this video was approved by the publisher so I’m not sure exactly what you mean. In order to reduce downtime, players can take actions at the same time, but each character can only act once per round. As in my example, a character can act twice consecutively, but not more than once each round.
@PickleTheHutt
@PickleTheHutt 4 жыл бұрын
There's no such thing as a "round" of actions. A character can take as many actions in a row as they desire as long as the group agrees. The concept of taking turns in a "round" is only to help groups mitigate downtime and not required. I know the rulebook says otherwise but the official FAQ says (quoted) "The one action at a time is only meant to manage the downtime. It is should never prevent you from strategizing or cooperating with your team". An earlier line says a character can take two actions in a row but does not limit how many times you can take 2 actions in a row. If the group agrees, a character could take 5 actions in a row.
@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
@@PickleTheHutt Well, like I said, I went with the rulebook because that is what I was asked to do. And the script and video has been checked and approved by the publisher and the maintainers of the FAQ so I'm not really sure what else I can say. Maybe contact them about it.
@boom34z55

I have a question about buying new cards for the combat and diplomacy decks. After choosing one of the three cards, should I shuffle it into my combat or diplomacy deck, lay it on top, or maybe slip it somewhere in the deck? I was looking for answers everywhere but unfortunately I did not find it. The Rulebook does not explain this clearly enough. Cheers! :D
@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
Filip Koziarzewski you actually shuffle your combat / diplomacy deck at the start of each combat / diplomacy. So it doesn’t actually matter where you put it when you buy it. I like shuffling, so I always shuffle it in when I buy it.
@Jamweasel66
@Jamweasel66 4 жыл бұрын
@@GamingRulesVideos Could you please indicate where the information about deck shuffling at the start of the fight is in the rulebook? Honestly, I only find the rule about shuffling the deck after the fight is over.
@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
Filip Koziarzewski ok, so technically, you shuffle at the end of a combat, not at the start. But when you buy a new card, it is shuffled in. So we just always shuffle at the start of combat.

@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
@@dizisarn not quite true. The first card can be anything at all. Nothing needs to connect. Every other card IN THE SAME ACTIVATION must connect at least 1 lightning bolt. So in order to play DEFEND, I needed to pay 1 Magic to connect the Magic key, which had the lightning bolt. However, that DEFEND card didn't do anything directly because the free key at the bottom was empty. It still connected though, and if it showed a cube, I still would have added a cube. However, the DEFEND card meant that I took 2 fewer damage.

In your example of Diplomacy, you connected Empathy twice though the Attribute Level is only one. The rulebook criminally fails to explain Attribute Levels as they pertain to resolving combat/diplomacy. So, how many Aggression Bonus Keys could I connect if my character had 2 points of Aggression? What is the limit? And is that per turn or per encounter? If it is only two, then it seems like your diplomacy contradicts this.
@terrysalt
@terrysalt 3 жыл бұрын
Probably a silly question but if you're playing solo, can't you just rest to get rid of the "you are dying" effect? Unlike the co-op card it doesn't prevent you healing from resting. Are solo players more or less invincible as a result?
@Mike_Laidlaw
@Mike_Laidlaw 3 жыл бұрын
You can, yes, but when you rest various things (such as the Menhir) advance, and most of them are a race against time when you play. Losing a significant portion of a day due to resting cuts down on the total actions you can take before the Menhir winks out, and you start taking terror and damage every day. So, you're correct, but it will still be a punishing scenario.

@@GamingRulesVideos I'm sorry but I am still confused. The Knot gets you the bonus shown on the enemy card right? So my question was, if that bonus contains a symbol what exactly does that mean. Do you get an arrow up for each point you have in that stat? Or is it each completed key with that symbol in the sequence? Or is it something else entirely?

@@megalukester98 If you look to the right, you will see that the empathy key is connected with the knot symbol. That means the effect triggers and you get two up arrows. @martinidamian
@martinidamian 4 жыл бұрын
Never mind, I got it on the example. The lightning icon can be on the second card you play, not necessarily on the first one. As long as they connect and you have the cost, you are golden. Thanks for the video, great explanation. We started playing it last night, we came across a combat card with the phrase "lose 3 charges" would you know what those charges refer to?
@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
@@martinidamian Yep. So, two ways this could have happened. The Defend card could have been played as a second card on the first round of combat by paying a magic to connect the lightning bolt. Or, it could have been the only card played in the second round of combat.
@GamingRulesVideos
@GamingRulesVideos 4 жыл бұрын
@@martinidamian IIRC, charges are cubes on certain cards. So, there will be a card that you play which says "put 2 charges on this" - and then there will be a way to spend those charges (I think)
