Taipei Metro Escalator Failure

Dozens of people were sent plummeting backwards when an escalator malfunctioned at a Taipei metro station. The escalator suddenly lost speed and reversed direction. The Taipei City Government-owned Taipei Metro has apologized for the incident at Xinpu Station, and said initial investigations have found the braking system was at fault.
