Thank you for coming to Taiwan & uploading so many wonderful videos around the world. As a local English teacher myself, I've got issues with Taiwan's English translations. Like the Raohe Street Night Market you are visiting this time, the pronunciation is more like Lao-Her, actually. But I can't blame you guys, as well as many others. Since you are all misled by those crappy translations. Look forward to seeing you guys in Taiwan again. The city I am living right now, which is also my hometown: Tainan, is generally considered domestically as the No.1 foody paradise in Taiwan. You may want to visit here sometimes in the near future.
@samuelandaudrey7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Really appreciate the correction in pronunciation. That is often our biggest fear of not saying things properly but sometimes we just forget to ask a local. Ah, we have a good friend who lives in Tainan so we'll definitely have to come for a visit someday :)
@是影片不是視頻7 жыл бұрын
I myself as a Taiwanese don't like the translation at all because the pronunciation is completely wrong. For example, Taipei is wrong, Taibei is correct pronunciation. I don't know who invented this and for what reason it has to be wrong like that.
Thank you very much! We're loving the night markets in Taipei :)

lol, love Audrey's facial expressions, sometimes I can't tell immediately if she likes the food, the little mochi ball with the green thing inside, based on her initial facial expression, I thought she was going to spit it out but she liked it and very clever of you Sam to make her the guinea pig by having her eat the smoking ice, I was laughing out loud seeing Audrey's reaction and smoke coming out of her mouth! Ha! And Sam cleverly avoids eating that one! 😜

As people have already told you in the comments, the smoking cookie and icecream were made using liquid nitrogen. I do have to add though to be careful with injesting things that are still 'smoking' like the cookie - that is the liquid nitrogen evaporating into harmless gas, but you don't want to swallow it quickly like you suggested, you need to make sure all the liquid nitrogen has gone out of it before you do. This is one of the reasons the instructions say to chew it with your teeth, to let the nitrogen escape. People run into trouble when they don't understand what they're actually eating and drinking (liquid nitrogen is popularly used in cocktails as well), and in rare cases do irreparable damage to their oesophagus and stomach. ✌

Thank you for letting us know about that in detail. Especially related to the potential health issues.

that ice mochi thing is probably not the best food to eat in this season cuz it is a cold food you have too much dark energy (yin) inside (it is not that light energy (yang) is good and dark energy(yin) is bad what's good is balance between them and tippign towads either side is bad )
@samuelandaudrey7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing that. What is an example of a light energy food item (yang)?
@Laurence02277 жыл бұрын
anything hot, hot pepper is consider yang Lichi is consider yang as well the thing is that if you have too much yang, you get pimples, sores allover your body, if there is too much Yin you get diarrhea easily and you constantly feel cold, but the key is keep the BALANCE, going overboard either way is unhealthy
