yeah as a Taiwanese our problem is like onion with layers. We can't even agree with ourselves who we are. I even have an aunt who went to school in the Japanese rule era thought we should have been Japanese lmao. Okay but I agree that's next level Taiwanese. The most difficult thing is to convince ourselves that we don't need to be independent as a whole new country to exist. We can exist as China, but the democratic one, and exist as China without the CCP influence. We just have to accept we are Chinese, but Chinese does not equal to CCP. It's a simple equation since all my grandparents came from China. Also most of these threats lies in the fact that Taiwan currently is ruled by the pro-independence party, it wasn't this bad when it used to be the pro-China party. But note pro-china is NOT pro-CCP. But on extra terrestrial level of thinking, I really don't think there's any country that doesn't recognize the existence of Taiwan, or else our passport literally just turns into shit if that's the case. Sure when it comes to official documents most might label Taiwan as under China, but that's probably because neither does CCP owns China.
@brennencox5163 жыл бұрын
@@ooXChrissieXoo " I even have an aunt who went to school in the Japanese rule era thought we should have been Japanese lmao" During that time she was Japanese, as the island was ceded to Japan. And after the KMT/RoC took back control, things weren't great for quite awhile. So if one has the opinion that they wish Taiwan would've stayed under Japanese control, is not out of the question. "The most difficult thing is to convince ourselves that we don't need to be independent as a whole new country to exist. We can exist as China, but the democratic one, and exist as China without the CCP influence" Taiwan (RoC) is already independent. The RoC never surrendered, was dissolved, nor was absolutely destroyed. The RoC can't declare independence, because it has been independent since 1912. You can exist as one of 2 Chinas. The CCP's influence will always be there, similar to Russian influence in Ukraine. "We just have to accept we are Chinese, but Chinese does not equal to CCP." Taiwanese are both ethnically Chinese, and nationally Chinese. The Republic of China is a China. But yes, the CCP claims that all ethnic Chinese are a property of the CCP, and the CCP claims property over all Chinas. "Also most of these threats lies in the fact that Taiwan currently is ruled by the pro-independence party, it wasn't this bad when it used to be the pro-China party. But note pro-china is NOT pro-CCP." The delusion that the RoC/KMT/DDP may one day take back control over "the mainland"? I mean, that would be possible, but that would require heavy outside support, or domestic unrest in the PRC demanding new governance. "But on extra terrestrial level of thinking, I really don't think there's any country that doesn't recognize the existence of Taiwan, or else our passport literally just turns into shit if that's the case." There are some countries, the CCP paid them, and like ladies of the night, they do what they are paid to do. During Covid-19's initial outbreak, "Taiwanese" passports were confused w/ PRC passports, and people were restricted from movement. So, yeah, RoC passports were turned into shit. "but that's probably because neither does CCP owns China." Oh the CCP owns the PRC. And it controls it with an iron fist. But I'm sure you know that.

What democracy rubbishes. The real truth is how the government govern and conduct it's business that can brings progressive changes to enable her people to flourish. There are many democracy that are failing throughout the world with poor and hungry people who scavenger at rubbish pits. There are people who have no home and basically sleep on street with makeup shacks and litter everywhere including faeces.....even in USA, the mother of all democracy. The rampant uncontrollable random killings making the place insecure and dangerous to move around freely. All in the name of democracy?? No!! It's all about the government, the policy and the type of governing that's matters. Nothing is static, everything is evolving with times and so, don't cling on to the past perpetually.

Taiwanese should not feel threatened, they only feel threatened because of their own propaganda vilifying Chinese. Chinese will only bring prosperity to the Taiwanese populace
@bobs_toys3 жыл бұрын
@@jessedanielryder Taiwan has a higher GDP per capita than any part of the CCP's creation. Just like Hong Kong does (for now) The CCP has been pretty horrible at bringing prosperity. The best thing they did was stop trying to be communist for a few decades and consequently stop ruining any attempts by the Chinese people to gain wealth, but that's stopping. The worst thing that the CCP can do to places like Hong Kong and Taiwan is what it was going to do anyway if it was unopposed. Every day of freedom brought about by refusing their demands is a victory.
@jessedanielryder3 жыл бұрын
@@bobs_toys clearly you know nothing about GDP vs individual prosperity. Of course Taiwan would have a larger GDP per capita, all smaller states will tend to have larger GDP per capita based on the need to diversify their economies to support their country. Poverty in Taiwan is rife and their growth in terms of personal wealth is far less than that of China. They had support from Western nations all this time and have squandered it. The people in Taiwan overwhelmingly identify as Chinese and only the few brainwashed do not. As well, if you are looking at GDP, their GDP does not compare with municipalities in China like Shanghai or Guangzhou, so there is no argument here. As for 'freedom', the freedom to not be separated from their Chinese family is the ultimate freedom this dumb goal to try and separate and cessate Taiwan only causes division

Many might not realise what a big thing this interview is. The CCP has tried to stop other places airing interviews with the Taiwan foreign minister, because it’s like a recognition of their sovereignty (in the CCP’s eyes). So, putting this interview on our national TV station is like giving them the middle finger. I’m super pleased this was done, it’s a small but significant step.

Taiwan is a legitimate country of its own Their people wish to remain Democrativ and they see interference from China as provocative and unwarranted. China eyes Taiwan as a strategic island gor use by them i future planned wars and for now as a financial windfall since their policies on China are sending them broke and they need a new income stream from Taiwans lucrative computer chip industry,untapped oil reserves, abundant fishing grounds and educated people. For China this is all about money and lots of it. They could hardly care lesd about a little island like Taiwan but it is a flea on the back of China and they just want to scratch it yo show the 3orld they are the tough guys. Unfortunately for the rest of the world we are all trying to overcome Covid the apparent Chinese Bio Warfare weapon released on the world 2 years ago and few of us have had the time or the effort available to concentrate on China's expansionist policies. That is changing which is why there is a push by the communists to get something done now while the world is distracted If we allow Taiwan to go under Asia will be lost and who will be next...Us

Fomenting war against other countries when there are domestic problems tends to be the sort of thing the USA and the UK do. China has no track record of doing that. Of course shows of strength by China on their borders are obviously not a pleasant experience but neither are shows of strength by the USA on China's borders halfway around the world from them, but I see no mention of that. Who could be most interested in creating insecurity in the area? Probably the country that has been in an almost constant state of war since WWII, mostly against much, much smaller countries than themselves and generally not doing a good job of winning those adventures. The armaments industry is the 2nd largest industry on the planet and 46% of that global industry is in the USA. 46% of the 2nd largest amount of money in the world can buy a huge chunk of the finest democracy and mainstream media money can buy including the radically war-mongering US foreign policy. War-mongering is incredibly profitable for them but disastrous for most people, as witness the USA's shrinking middle class and growing pool of working poor and homeless and our mob are leading us down the same path. By comparison China, who have not been in an almost constant state of war for decades, have raised their population out of dire poverty, have a growing middle class and the fastest growing economy in the world. Maybe it's time to give peace a chance, it seems to be economically streets ahead for the majority of people. But hey, feel free to keep believing the USA's war-mongering propaganda, it's your money they're stealing.
@straight-up-shots3 жыл бұрын
You're promoting China when China is the instigator here. If China wasn't bullying Taiwan, then China could sell defense equipment to Taiwan. Your view is very idealistic, but it's not the reality of what's happening. I think you've bought into the propaganda of the CCP a bit.
