Tajiks (Eastern Iranians)

Tajiks (Persian: تاجيک‎: Tājīk, Tajik: Тоҷик) are a Persian-speaking Iranian ethnic group native to Afghanistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Tajiks are the largest ethnicity in Tajikistan, and the second largest in Afghanistan which constitutes over half of the global Tajik population. They speak varieties of Persian, a Western Iranian language. In Tajikistan, since the 1939 Soviet census, its small Pamiri and Yaghnobi ethnic groups are included as Tajiks. In China, the term is used to refer to its Pamiri ethnic groups, the Tajiks of Xinjiang, who speak the Eastern Iranian Pamiri languages. In Afghanistan, the Pamiris are counted as a separate ethnic group.

My heart melts for my culture! New generation must learn and study history deep inside and must be proud of his old generation. Today people understand by the word Iran only today's Islamic republic which is wrong. Iranian are all Persian (farsi) speakers. Today Islamic Republic with a name of "Iran" appeared in 1954. So dont be confused.

My dear friend, you are right. All persian speakers are iranian but it should be mentioned that the name of iran even before 1954 was Iran. For instance, in Constitutional decree(farman e mashroutiat) Iran is mentioned with this phrase: Mamalek e Mahrousa ye Iranzamin. Morevere, In historical books, the governments of this land are mentioned as Iranian governments. For exampel, Abd al-Sattar Lahouri in his book, Majalis-e Jahangiri For example, considers the Safavid kings as "Dara/ khosrae of Iran". There is much more evidence that you can find in authentic books We conclude that« Iran» is not a new name for current Iran. My last word is that all of us ie people of Iran, Tajikestan and Afghanestan belong to a land called Greater Iran.

Pashton language is derived from eastern Iranian ..Pashtons were tajiks before ..I am Swati Pashton but ancestors were Tajiki..Sultan Bahram and Sultan Fahkal were Gabri Tajiks and they Ruled northern Afghanistan to western Pakistan which includes Kashmir as well...Pakhli sarkar was named after Sultan Fahkl ( Pakhl) and it included swat till Mansehra and hazara .. Pakhli still is a town in Mansehra...Sultan Bahram and his brother came from Kunar peach valley Afghanistan and their ancestors were from Tajikistan earstern iranian zoroastrisme. !! My cast is Swati Gabri Khankhel .. we are know from Sultan Jehangiri Swati..He established his kingdom in Elum area and named it to Swat..hence we called ourselves Swatis...swat had many northern areas of Pakistan including Bajaur till kashmir.. Islam entered in Kashmir with Swatis..or Tajik Sultans or Jahangiri Sultans
