poor tak, as i said before this era wasn't "bad" for 3D platformers but it was defiantly the final days. You had hits like the jak and daxter and ratchet and clank from the former devs of crash and spyro, along with gems like the Sly trilogy and ty the Tasmanian tiger. Even old dogs like sonic started to get a little better with the first two adventure games and the handhelds, and mario came back big with sunshine, luigi's manson, and kart double dash. If the 8 bit era had been the experimental years, and the 16-32 bit was the the wild west of 3D platformers, then the 2000's-early 2010s was the swansong era. Tak is definitely a relic of this era who really deserved better, but since he's seen as a failure by nickelodeon, I have to wonder if he'll ever get his own comeback the way spyro and crash did with the reignited and n sane trilogies.

Tak is back, tak is back, tak is back! Buddy he’s a boy part of a jungle race, kicks mud in enemies face, travels through time and space, swinging his staff all over the place! (I tried)

Glad to see another review and thank you very much for noticing Rayman. I honestly feel Tak is Nick's Rayman and I'd love to see Rayman get a cartoon on Nickelodeon and Tak gives an idea on how it can work.

Rayman did have that very short-lived show in the 90s! Would love to see it get a second chance.

Does anybody happen to know where I could find a decent/high quality version of the trailer at 3:27? I've only been able to find really low quality versions of it.

While I did like playing though Staff of Dreams, I prefer the 1st game as i like the open world style it offers. Still, the linear structure help this game in the long run.

Another Great Vid. This was actually the only tak game i've ever played. I first got it on the gamecube years ago at a flea markter, since it was very cheap and when i played it, it was something i guess. Idk, i got kinda bored playing through it and never ended up finishing it. Maybe later on if i get the first game and great juju challenge i'll give the series another shot, but as of right now, don't really have a big interest in trying it again. But yeah great video as always and let me just say, the editing and jokes were pretty well done!! :D

One of the best 3D platforming trilogy’s ever! Yeah they have minor flaws but still 9 out of ten games for me! Definitely they deserve a remake on Nintendo switch and ps5 with amazing gameplay stories music characters writing and voice acting and personality this trilogy has it all! THQNordic the Tak trilogy was the most successful Nickelodeon game of all time! So make it happen! Keep up the great work man! :)

I'm very excited for this year of Nick game reviews because now we're getting to the post-BFBB era of Sponge games, I especially can't wait to hear what you think about the Movie game, Lights camera pants and Breature from the krusty karb.

Shame you didn't quite like this as much as most, and considering it's seen by many as the series' high point I don't expect this to get better for the next 3 games. I agree with the idea of it suffering due to it being rushed though, not just for the gameplay but also for the technical side since I think some aspects aren't very polished, like the physics resetting most times the camera changes in an in-game cutscene which is why Tak's hair and cape shake sometimes, the somewhat lacking animations in some areas like the bear sliding on ice which I find funny, some infrequent glitches that take me out of the experience when they happen, etc. Still enjoy it but I can only imagine how much better it would be if it had more time.

Can you think of any games you've played where you enjoyed alternative gameplay types that popped up frequently?
@CartoonReview3 жыл бұрын
I think pretty much all of the core Ratchet games do a great job with their little gameplay tweaks. Except for the Clank sections, they've always sucked lol. The Ratchet games always have had a nice balance of combat sections of levels and puzzle/platforming sections of levels, kinda like what Staff of Dreams does early on. Also, the combat arenas just show off how pure the combat is in those games.

My theory is that the rights to Tak are a complete mess. From what I've read, it seems like Avalanche, Nickelodeon, and THQ all had a piece of this franchise. Not sure how possible it is to get a new game unfortunately.

Wait, ALL of your more recent Nickelodeon video game reviews have gotten mostly negative comments? I thought it was just the All-Star Brawl video. For what it's worth, I've been a lot more positive when commenting on the videos before and afterwards. It's a real shame that you won't respond to most people's comments anymore just because (seemingly) one bad apple spoiled the bunch. 😨
@CartoonReview3 жыл бұрын
That's not exactly what I said lol. I said the comments seemingly always get into a frenzy every time I'm slightly negative about a Nick game that's beloved.

I wanted to say this before but since this is their final Nick game now its my opportunity to say that Helixe is a shit developer. Aside from Tak 1 and maybe Jet Fusion all their games are mediocre at best and no, having only a year of development isn't an excuse in their case since most GBA games were developed in under a year, sometimes even less than 6 months. IDK how Tak 1 ended up being far better than their other games but I doubt it was due to development time. Perhaps it was due to Tak being a brand new IP rather than a already existing TV show/movie?
@ultrairrelevantnobody18623 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't call them shit developers, since no one wants to make a bad game. You say most GBA games are made under a year, sometimes 6 months, but can you provide examples of good games made within the cycle of the latter?
@ditheremotion3 жыл бұрын
@@ultrairrelevantnobody1862 Most of Vicarious Visions' GBA games were seemingly developed in only a handful of months and, while they aren't amazing most of them are at least alright.
