I was diagnosed with auto immune disorder at the age of 22 when I had just delivered by daughter who was 28 days old. I had collapsed and was under ventilator support for 15 days and after back home my life changed upside down. My world shattered as it literally took few months to come to terms. I was under heavy steroids for nearly 5 years because of which I had put on weight, people used to make fun of me and whoever I meed used to advise me on how to reduce weight, actually speaking I was struggling to eat food, it was because of medicines. I stopped going out , I stopped seeing mirror. I entered into cocoon life. I took spirituality and vedic lifestyle that actually gave me inner strength and with divine blessings I am perfectly fine now. no medications for the past 16 years. It's Divine Grace. I can relate to what you are going through and it really need a lot of inner strength to bounce back. Appreciate what you are doing Samantha. God bless you

Hey Samantha, I cannot thank you enough for this series of episodes you are doing for awareness on autoimmunity. I have an autoimmune condition for the past 2 years and it still doesn’t get any better. Doctors and professionals don’t tell us about this much leaving us in a constant confusion about the condition. I finally get to hear something relatable where I explore more about how one can deal with it.
@jasminekhosa9 ай бұрын
my dad ( who is a pediatrician himself) was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis in 1983 (his age was 28 at that time) and we as a family learned to live and manage this condition, now he is 69 and living a normal life then I was diagnosed with graves disease in 2007 ( at age 22 ) but I was suffering from 2002 (at age 17) with on/off symptoms so was miss diagnosed, now I am 39 (i am a homeopathic doctor) and living a good life, it has been a journey of 60 years (40 years of my dad +20 years of myself) of learning/managing/living with an autoimmune condition. MY CONCLUSION: Don't lose hope, learn, understand, and work on your body. You will definitely need help from many different people at different points in your life, it can be for your physical issues or mental issues so ask for it. Life is beautiful :)

How you managed your body from this autoimmune disease? Can you put any lifestyle you followed?
@jasminekhosa9 ай бұрын
very basic things, everyone knows it but very few actually believe in them or follow them sincerely 1. Declutter your mind, your body, and your life:: by keeping your distance from negative thoughts/toxic people/ out-of-control situations, right priorities, forgive, forget, or ask for forgiveness. 2. Give power to your mind and body:: by right food, sleep, meditation, exercise, music, walking, etc. 3. Hold to your inner strength which is the only constant thing that floats your boat in bad times and practice gratitude. To be able to do all the above things we( my dad and me) took help from different people 1. Regular visits to allopathic doctors as we only knew this way at the starting 2. But when the reports fluctuated every now and then and medicinal doses were not decreasing then took homeopathy treatment that gave us a stable life 3. My dad took naturopathy, (gut cleansing, mud bath, sauna, etc.) helps in detoxification 4. Constant learning about food that works for us with the help of a nutritionist 5. We took counseling sessions every 3-4 years or talked to any professional psychologist to understand the behavior( ours and others) that triggered and spoiled all the good health we built over months and worked hard to change it as much as possible for stable life and health 6. Learned the right exercises from 2-3 physiotherapists and figured out what works It's a constant journey of good days and bad days but in the starting phase when someone gets the diagnosis it's already very late to work any treatment effectively, the reports will fluctuate every few days or in months according to the condition, at this point hold on to faith and try to understand your body and mind and use this information to search for help and work on it later. Gradually you will learn to manage your life with stable reports for years. All the best. Life is beautiful. :) @@roobiyapk7690
