Amazing video I do indeed need help though, very confused at the moment. My goal is to achieve a stereo mix using ECAMM LIVE. I understand that in Ecamm live in order to get stereo I have to check mark input 1 and 2 in audio preferences. BUT will the rodecaster be recognized as input 1 and 2 in Ecamm by just simply plugging up the rode caster to my laptop into USB 1 ? if I run 4 things into the rode caster pro will Ecamm automatically pick it up stereo because of the simple fact the rode caster usb 1 input feature? please help thank you :)

If you keep the main mic input to stereo main and set the Ecamm speakers to chat won't it still do the same thing and remove the slap back? I'm not understanding why you have to set them both to chat. Thanks.

This is a great video, thanks! One question (problem) is that I notice a little "clipping" of my main mic when I'm set to Chat, that doesn't happen when it is set to Main. Do you know what this is / how to resolve it? Thanks!

Do you still use Audio Hijack now that you have the Rode Caster Pro 2? I have the Rode Caster 2 and was wondering if that app is even needed?

Q: where were you playing the "sound effect" from? was it the RCP2 pads? When I play the RCP pads, it still comes out the same place as my main mic and I have my settings like in this video. I dont see anything coming in on the "sound effects" meter, Thnaks
@TakeOneTech2 жыл бұрын
I was playing the sound effect from Ecamm rather than RCP 2. The point was to show that if you are playing sound effects, or have interviewees in Ecamm live, the audio will be going from Ecamm Live, into the RCP2 and then back into the Ecamm Live Mic channel if you are not using mix minus.

How is the responsiveness of the smart pads ? Can they be just lightly touched to activate them, or one needs to apply some pressure to activate them ?
@TakeOneTech2 жыл бұрын
They can be lightly touched to activate the, so not much pressure required at all, but equally, you're unlikely to accidentally trigger them. I'd say they've got it just right in fact!

Please help! I have a rodecaster pro, Sennheiser mke 600 shotgun mic, and a Sony ZV E10 camera and Ecamm. Is it best for me to setup my rodecaster directly to my computer or directly to my camera? The mic is mounted on top of my camera, and I was going to buy and audio interface to connect the rodecaster to my camera as well. Is that necessary? Or can I just connect them all separately to the computer for ecamm with no problems (i.e. audio problems)? I've watched so many videos but have not figured this setup out. Note i only need to pre record, not go live on ecamm.
@TakeOneTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi Siobhán, I’d recommend connecting your Mic to the Rodecaster. This way you will benefit from all of the onboard audio processing that the Rodecaster offers. Then, connect your rodecaster to your computer and select that as your mic input in Ecamm Live. This will give the best result.

Are you monitoring with your Bluetooth in-ears from your mac or rcp2? I don't see the bt icon on the mixer screen so maybe not :)
@TakeOneTech2 жыл бұрын
My in ear monitors are wired (albeit with an extension!) and are plugged into the Headphone 1 socket on the back of the Rodecaster Pro 2. The volume in my monitors is then adjusted by the first of the 4 knobs at the top right of the Rodecaster, which are for headphone volume of the four headphone outputs.

Question. On my last two shows the music that I want to mix just behind my microphone drowned me out 100%. I was unable to turn the music off or even lower it unless I muted the channel. Should I be using chat mix-minus or stick with my main and try to make adjustments?
@TakeOneTech2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I can 100% answer this... depends on a number of factors - Was the music playing from within Ecamm, from the rodecaster (smartpads) or from another source, eg computer/system audio? Give me a little more info and I'll do my best to offer some further trouble shooting steps. Aside from that, though, I'd certainly always recommend using mix minus with Ecamm.... it is one of those things that if you don't need it, it won't matter if it is switched on.... but if you do need it, you'll be glad that it is switched on!

@@TakeOneTech Thank you do much. The music is within ECAMM

Thanks Alec very useful - excellent in fact, I've just finished an Ecamm live with 2 guests in interview mode with the chat features enabled with the RCP Il Chat setting also enabled. And worked perfectly. I have a couple of questions please... 1. do we also need to set the Mac sound input and output set to RCP Il Chat? Also 2. do I need to check the Ecamm preferences box for map sound to channels 1&2 as you did? And if so why please? I don't really understand this feature. Can you enlighten us please Alec? Thanks in advance.
@TakeOneTech2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad it was useful for you. In answer to your questions: 1.) In this scenario it would be best to use RCP 2 Chat for system audio as well. I'd consider this the basic setup so that you wont run into any slap back / echo issues when using the RCP 2 with Ecamm Live. However I made a second video with some slightly more advanced audio routing whereby the system audio was set to RCP 2 Main instead. In this instance you would then have control over the system audio level on the RCP 2 faders. However, if going down this route , you would want to turn off "Include system audio" within the Ecamm Live preferences.... it is explained in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaqVZYell62qhtU 2.) Yes, you should check the map channels 1&2 as shown in the video. This resolves the issue that was demonstrated whereby there is still audio bleeding through even when faders are set to Zero. This is a direct response from Røde on the issue: "The main problem is multitrack audio being combined, which causes some odd artefacts. There is an easy fix for this by selecting “Map Input Channel 1 and 2 to Left and Right Stereo” in Ecamm’s audio settings." Hope that helps!

but the RCP II cannot send separate channels to Adobe Audition any more….as we could do with the original one.

It maybe related to ASIO drivers.... certainly it should be compatible... Checkout this article and specifically the section about "Using ASIO Drivers" rode.com/en/user-guides/rodecaster-pro-ii/recording-and-exporting-audio

I've bought one recently and I hear my own voice through the headset connected to the output of RCP2. I'm using it for gaming and streaming. How can I fix that? Edit: I'm using OBS. Do you know whether if I have to change any setting like "Map input channels 1&2.... " in OBS?

Hi Alex - it looks like your Audio is slighty out of sync by a couple of frames. Other than that, thanks for the great video!
