Nice one. My son completed his DofE Gold with his final expedition in the Brecon Beacons in July. It was one of the few times I’ve seen it sunny and warm. Mind you his practice expedition was during the worst Spring weather on Dartmoor for 6 years 😂 On another note my wife is part Icelandic. You could consider hiking the Laugavegur trail as part of a holiday to Iceland?

Walking with poles makes it 70% easier to do, as your arms take far more of the load than you'd imagine, specially when walking uphill? they make life so much easier, and cut down on a huge amount of Ankle injuries
