In 1996 We sailed Tasmania in our live aboard 37’ steel yacht Emmanuel built by my husband Bill. We love Tassie and are enjoying all your adventures especially around the East coast of Tasmania…Wine glass bay absolute fave. We’ve been to most of your anchorages shown in this episode. We lived aboard for 17 years and loved it all…even the rough parts. You two are an inspiration and I agree, you make an awesome team. 🤗

I really enjoyed the shots of snorkeling for abalone. Also, glimpses of the surreal landscape with the gorgeously colored rock were great. Finally, I loved the music and drone shots as the video ended. A very peaceful ending.

was definitely there with you in Tassie, in 1986 I lived and scuba dived down around Port Arthur and the blow holes.. . you both have a calming and inviting was of making your audience feel as though they are there with you.. for me personally, have to comment on most of your videos about your 'free dives', I've been a scuba protege since a 7yo, and snorkelling is what I enjoy, but free diving looks so easy the way you 'gently glide thru the ocean'.. beautiful to watch thank you and keep up the great job you both do on keeping up fully informed about 'Free Range sailing, life on the Aussie Coastline'. Ciao VW

Super stoked to have stumbled upon your channel. Tassie is a magical spot, I fell in love with it, when I was there in 2015/16 prior to heading to Antarctica. It has some incredible hidden bays, every where has a view of something beautiful, it is wild, I'm not a sailer, but it looks like some incredible sailing. I can't wIt to watch more of your content. Troy and Pascale, Ive watched all your episodes in 3 weeks. Thank you for the joy and inspiration you have provided with your journey to date. If it wasn't for Covid 19, I may never have come across your channel, but sure glad i did. Love the vibe, the commentary, the filming, Pascale's food and music. I'm Ex RAN 20yrs.(Served on HMAS Hobart which escorted the Tall ships from Tasmania to Sydney for the Bi Centennial in 1988, was an amazing experience) I miss the sea, but your adventures warm my heart.

California & Mexico breath hold diver here. Tasmanian visibility is a great improvement. Beautiful! Our abalone fishery is shut down. We wear knives on both forearm and leg for dispatching fish and to deal with the unexpected. Long-time divers have warned that kelp can contain a web of invisible, discarded 50lb-test fishing line which can entrap a diver. An accessible knife plus a backup can be handy to cut free. Have no fear of Great Whites. (i) They stay outside the kelp, and (ii) they have no sense of courteous introduction or playfulness. You will never see them coming or know what happened. Great adventure. Great channel! .
@FreeRangeLiving4 жыл бұрын
Yup, we dive as a pair and ALWAYS have a knife for fishing line. You are right- kelp would hide it very well. We did make a video on sharks here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoGbhImbiL9-jMk but I think GW sharks are in a category of their own because they like to bite mammals in half. I think we're still safer away from people and traffic though!

Great video folks. I recently purchased a miura 31 that is lying in Greece. I’ve not even seen her yet. But the survey was all good so I went for it. My only sailing experience is an Atlantic crossing on a brand new leopard 45. Not quite what I’m going to be experiencing from here on. Can’t wait to dive into the sailing world and being a live aboard. So much to learn. Especially when it comes to harvesting sea food. I’ve never eaten abalone. We call them perlemoen in South Africa. So overfished. Now just in the hands of dangerous criminal poachers. Once corona allows. I’ll make my way to Greece to my boat. In the meantime I’m hoping to pick up a lift crewing out of Cape Town and in the general direction of the med.
