I took Tokyowan Ferry from Kurihama Port to Kanaya Port and went to Nokogiri mountain in Chiba Prefecture. It was a breathtaking view. It's not too far from Tokyo.

In case people didn't know how lucky catching Mt. Fuji like that: on average, there are only 25% of days in a year when you can get a clear day like that. The only time I can see Mt. Fuji is from the arriving and departing plane. And once onboard the Togendai Pirate cruise ship on lake Ashi (only the top cone protruding from the cloud covers is visible).

I once spent an entire day traveling to Hakone then to lake Ashi in hope to see Mt Fuji, only to find it completely shrouded in fog (it was a rainy day). I know what you mean, I should have spent that (precious) day in Tokyo instead...

I was just thinking of you today and hoping to see a new video from you. I retired January 2019 and was just getting into all the new traveling that I could finally do now that I was retired. For 2020 I had booked us a cruise and land tour of Alaska which has been a dream bucket location. For June 2020 we were supposed to go on a transatlantic cruise followed by a week and a half in London. For 2020 we also had another cruise booked which would of taken us to Russia but everything was cancelled. With your videos I can sit back and learn about travel in Japan so when everything opens up I am ready. Also, since you love the Curry so much you should get it every time and don't worry about showing us new foods. I loved it on the other video where your finger "slipped" and you ordered it :)

Holy cow! I've been there! In the early 90's, we were in Yokosuka for about a week, and a group of us when to Nokogiri mountain while on liberty. I remember that climb and the utterly incredible view. I don't think they had the sign up then, as I didn't know that it was a quarry from the Edo Period. Thanks for bringing back a really fun memory for me.

I didn't know that you could see Mt. Fuji as large as that from the area around Tokyo. I think I understand a lot better why the mountain has as much cultural importance as it does. This was a really interesting location that I knew nothing about and seems like a fantastic trip away from Tokyo for a day.

We went travelling Japan for a month in 2019. Flying into Tokyo I saw this massive triangular thing sticking out above the clouds. It took several seconds to register, then I got so excited realising I was seeing Fujisan. I'd heard so many people say you are lucky to see it at all, so assumed this was it,my one viewing. Our Tokyo hotel room had a clear view of it, we stayed in Hakone and saw it closer up from Owakudani. We saw it on the train to and from Kyoto and many other spots we visited including in Tokyo Bay. Leaving Japan, we saw Fujisan saying a majestic goodbye to us, with the setting sun burning it red on its snow cap. In all I counted that we got fantastic views of this mighty mountain more than 20 times. 😊 I am seriously hooked on Fujisan its "my" mountain .🗻⛩

So happy to see that in the more touristy places, there's English language alongside the Japanese language. It just helps outsiders to understand the menu, the places, the instructions that come on the intercoms @ the ferries, trains etc. You're lucky to be young & strong - we couldn't have made it up the staircase. But the view of Tokyo Bay is SPECTACULAR. Thank you for sharing your trip with us on youtube - we ENJOYED it very much. Thumbs up!

Because the mountain looks like saw? 😆 Let me tell you about one from my country. There's a mount called "Tangkuban Parahu", which means "Flipped Boat". Local legend tells a story about a man who kicked a boat out of anger until it flipped. And the boat became the mount. And yes, the mount does look like a flipped boat 😄

What an amazing experience!! You didn't meet many people along the way except on the ferry, the restaurant/cafe and the ferry back so that made the experience on the top of the mountain so beautiful without a crowd of people around. This would be the best time to visit Japan without dealing with tourists, but it does make it seem eerie everywhere you've gone to film with no people around. You definitely earned your mackeral that day. I knew you'd go back for that bakery treat!! LOL.. Love videos and keep them coming.
