In my opinion, when you are a judge in such a competition, you must judge the talent of the person or group. Howie judges according to his personal taste and that makes him a very bad judge.

日本のある番組の中でカラオケの採点では原音のメロディーを何箇所か外して歌っていました。 それを残念に思うのかこの人の表現するものとは違うのか？ 音程は表現の仕方でずれ動くものだと私は思います。 それは、元歌の歌手に提供する為その音程でなければ完成されないからです。 この方にとってはこのメロディーラインで表現することでこの詩詞が表現できメロディーも完成する。 大切な事はプロの歌唱はそのパフォーマンスが終わった時如何に感動するかが大切だと思うからです。 ステージが終わった瞬間会場全体に拡がる感動の嵐‼️ これこそがプロだと思います。

日本のテレビプログラムはイヤーモニターを使えないことが多い。 モニタースピーカーでも聞きにくい時があり、ピッチを合わせられないことがある。 イヤーモニターの方が断然ピッチを合わせやすい。 歴史的に考えると、モニターもなしで合わせていた時代もあり、かつビジュアル的に耳に機械を付けているのが邪道に映るのかな。 でも、客はピッチのあった素晴らしい歌声を期待しているけどね。
