I love this story, but I still do hope Amaranth has more in store for her yet to come. Losing your lover, best friend and then becoming a lonely, immortal goddess without peer isn't a kind ending I'd wish on anyone...

does any one not notice how Alethrion is not decomposing but aging, that makes me think he might still be alive because he still has a link with greed and if he fully dies greed might die after all it is the manifestation of Alethrion's greed. hence i think we will get a closure one Alethrion and Amerath relationship.

I kind of think altherion is that last but of humanity that is holding back greed from being released into the world. So if he dies, then nothing will be able to stop greed from coming out. That's why amerath is going around gathering heroes before altherion dies.

@@mikebaneofntrguardianofwho5396 "The first Hero" is the first one, "Travelling Deity" is paralell to it and also some time after it (notice Alethrion ageing). I assume "The reward" takes place before Amerath gets to the temple (though it may take place many years later). "Wilhelm's curse" is the one after both: "Travelling Deity"(you can tell from the last scene with the sun-protection-talisman that will appear later in "Wilhelms curse") and "The reward".

I love this series, but I feel saddened that Amerath may never know that it was Alethrion’s love for her that allowed him to trap his greed, or even that he is the reason it’s locked away. I also feel sad for Alethrion, who will never be able to receive Amerath’s forgiveness.

I agree it was a bit underwhelming seeing the short clips, because you'd be excited seeing the time on the video, but realize 80% of that time was for the intro and credits. This is perfect how it is and I hope if they continue The Reward they stick with this format.

Also because it takes time to get into the emotional space of a character. I felt way more connected watching the full cut. My vote is with the longer format as well! The cost/benefit equation for me definitely favors longer wait for longer content.

It's an awful long wait to do full episodes, though. It's a trade off, and I don't know where the ideal middle is. I hope we can all agree that the BEST thing would be for a major backer come along and let them push out full episodes as fast as they can do the short ones now.

My favorite part about this is how Amerath and even the deity/bird are partially to blame for this. If Amerath hadn't refused to take the bird back to Alethrion or if the bird had stuck to it's mission it's possible they could have prevented Greed gaining Alethrion's strength. Ultimately it is Alethrion's fault though. I personally don't think the evil was controlling him so to speak, maybe influencing him but Alethrion's decent was all his own and his fall created this being.

I still wish that, at the end when she sees the flashback of the monster, she was also able to see a flashback of what happened to Alethrion and that in the end he sacrificed himself for the greater good, despite his misdeeds.

I loved this episode in chapters and I love it as a single block! Being able to follow Amerath post-breakup and see how her story panned out was my biggest wish during the last Kickstarter campaign. That's why I cast my vote for her episode to be made, and this was the spectacular result! You're awesome, you know this, but don't mind me if I say it again. ;) Excellent work!

Jordan Hiller I think the creature feeds on anyone with negative emotions. Greed and all that. I think maybe a small piece of it was already in him, but as he ventured deeper into the dark side, the stronger its hold became. When he puts on the helmet after killing those three warriors, it was probably when the creature gained full control.

It never seemed to have control of him IMO, it just fed off of his negative emotions and probably helped direct him into going after the gods. Though it seems to have absorbed all of his greed by the end, so that it cared more about all the treasure he'd collected than it did about fighting him.
