Be careful. The Hopium Dispenser looks amazingly similar to a breast pump. You don't want to confuse the 2 or you might get an unusually optimistic baby that continually believes the next expansion will drop "any day now" up to the point of graduating high school. @17:00 Blizzard really take this to heart. The reason why I only really play one character in this game is because I feel overburdened to do it with alts. I have alts, and with some alts I make a choice that isn't the same from the get go (I.E. DK is Venthyr and DH is Night Fae) but I have not and will not redo the same grind for every alt. Which is a shame, because there is a lot of fun to be had with alts. Including finding new ways of playing as I have found with my NF Warlock in 9.1.5. In conclusion it was important when MMOs were not so involved to have this featured of everything being separate per character. But that was then this is now. Make everything account wide except for gear and leveling. This just says you aren't confident enough in your own classes and different ways of playing to retain people without forcing them to grind now. TL:Dr - modernize. Look at SWTOR or ESO. Much better with alts for both.

One question I hoped to find during the cause of the plot was what was ven'ari whole deal? Hiding among jailors forces in his domain. Hiding from other cartel brokers then joined us in Korthia but then she did not have much of a story thereafter it seems just hinting zereth mortis. What was her goals? Does she work for someone other then herself? Is she a dreadlord in disguise? I hope 9.2 shows that? Sadly I stopped playing very early in Korthia so maybe that was already answered might return if/when we return to Azeroth but I'm very tired of WoW gameplay the endless grinding and only the lore and the storytelling was the last thing that kept me playing until now. I always loved the journey to max level and story quest more then dailys etc. But one thing Shadowlands did well was it continued the story through covenant after hitting max. Though SL story has been a bit mediocre compared to other expansions. But yeah could have kept going on story alone if not for Korthia grinding who did me in...

I have had a hard time caring about any of it. It feels very much to me like kids playing with their toys in a sandbox. “And then this guy does this and that guy does that” no motivation or reasoning behind it. How did zovaal convince anyone to work with him? Why did the kyrian turn to zovaal and become mawsworn? Why did a Titan end up in the shadowlands? What was Torghast built for? Why did the light and void attack the shadowlands? What convinced sylvannas to join zovaal? What convinced her to change sides against zovaal? Was anduin dominated by sylvannas or did he choose? Why is the shadowlands the way it is (kyrian ferry souls to SL to become one of the 4 covenants, nightfae serve to let nature souls go back to life, venthyr harvest anima and necrolords protect the shadowlands from….) it feels very much like a perpetual motion machine that works to make itself work so it can work to make itself work. Who is the anima for? The people that harvest the anima so they can harvest more anima and so on. Necrolords defend the shadowlands from who? The other covenants that are protected by the necrolords. The Nightfae nurture souls that are leaving again and the kyrians start the whole process. There is nothing the machine is designed to do except make the machine work. Who is being served by any of them? If there is an answer, they should state it if there isn’t, is that why zovaal is mad? Why destroy EVERYTHING when a change in how things work is sufficient. Oh and I guess Arthas was just dominated and got disenchanted, GG.

9:43 BIG on this one. The worst part about mount/pet collecting is how it prioritizes you to grind the hell out of one specific rare for weeks or more often months. Getting mounts/pets that I want by doing more general content around the zone sounds much more fun. Mechagon had some of this though I felt it was bogged down by some of those same currencies being used on both power upgrades and cosmetic upgrades so you'd always prioritize power.

Blizzard doesnt deserve credit for removing toxic systems at the end of an expansion like they've done in the recent past. Especially when time and time again the player base tell them how bad these systems are and all blizzard does is turn their back and disappear until the final patch.

Never thought I'd say that, because I hated FF when I first started playing it. The new zone is just so... boring (but at least it looks loads better than Korthia). I watched someone streaming the 9.2 cinematic and realized this story could be so much better if they actually explored it and didn't try to compress it into one expansion. I guess the fact that they compress it just shows they don't necessarily value the story and it's more an excuse for new zones. I did think it was very good of Azem to visit Azeroth - they are the traveler after all. I think that is also a reason why 9.2 may not live up to any expectations. Many people still haven't forgotten the scandals or just let them slide because "new content". And many are still disappointed in gearing systems, etc and just not interested. So it's not just the time for this content to come out.

17:40 Story quests skipping should always be optional, it should not be the standard effect for alts. The reason is that some people (like me) like to play some story content again if its fun (I played the Broken Shore several times for example at the beginning of Legion because it was fun - at least enough to play it a couple of times. I didn't play it with all chars, but I played it more than once). Being forced into being only able to play that stuff once and then all Alts automatically skipping it wouldn feel really bad. I'd say the best system for story stuff is that it is mandatory on the first char and can be skipped or played again, depending on the player's choice. All non-gold currencies, all reputation and all progression systems like the Cipher or the Covenants should be account wide though. 22:20 Blizzard could do what they have done at the end of WotLK and simply put out a mini raid with one or two bosses, just to give players something new.

Here goes an unpopular opinion: I actually like when patches taking longer, since it allows me to enjoy the content, not just farm gear into farm more gear. Also after enjoying the content for a while with farmed gear I find that taking some time off Wow actually helps me enjoy it more when new content comes...

Finally someone else who shares my feelings. I stopped playing when I realized I wasn't enjoying the game experience. The whole game revolves around gambling in a gear lottery, and the only thing to do with maxed out gear is repeat the content you already grew to hate by doing it over and over hoping to get lucky. WoW has a way of keeping you engaged long after the fun feeling has worn off. I welcome the lulls in content so I can keep up with all the other great games that are out there.

Can't say I'm coming back for this patch, despite... trying to come back for the past two major patches, because ultimately I can't justify it. 9.2 doesn't have enough content for me to justify purchasing the time, I still take issue with Kotick remaining in charge and morally don't want to support the company long as he's around, and I don't have enough people still in the game to go back. That's not to say I'm jumping ship for FF14, that game's never had me in tbh, but WoW will remain a blip on my radar until, perhaps, 10.0 rolls around. The FOMO, the toxic aspects of community, and generally painful game design just makes it not worth my while, and that's sad. I miss loving this game.

I feel like the way this game is progressed and the way new content is introduced is a deadly trap for every developer. I said this before, that the way wow expansions in general work is a bad idea from a design perspective. Whenever a new expansion is added, it is added basically as an override. It replaces the content of the last major update and instead of the player having even more variety of content each expansion and each patch, the player routine is replaced by a new routine, that feels in the end oddly similar. Now I am a developer myself and although I haven't worked on a game like wow, I can tell you that it's a lot of work to build a good piece of content in a game like wow even more so, because you have so much stuff in the game that needs to work all the time and kept working. When you as a game dev or a team of devs have to basically create content like on a production line it becomes very stressful and unrewarding. It feels like the content you are creating is like a meal. The player consumes it and then it's obsolete whenever the next meal drops... This is very unsatisfactory both from the player and from the developer point of view. Why make this new awesome system when it is completely useless to the player when the next patch comes out because it's "old content". An MMO, in my opinion should not be expanded like this. It should have a solid core loop and idea, which wow has and had and the content should be structured in a way where new content is added as variety, not as a replacement. You can and should have content that is more difficult or more valuable than other, for that makes the world feel interesting and the contrast gives the player the motivation to strive for more difficult types of content with more special and intersting rewards but this is not what wow does with their expansions. A new wow expansion does not create contrast, or variety. It just gives you a new item and character max level, new art, new story. As a player you don't really feel the impact of that original design sin at the beginning of the game when the first expansions come out but now it is getting more and more appearent. The problem that arises with this way of development is that each expansion presents itself as "the content" it's just the stuff you do for the next year and a half or more which means that when that expansion is not as great, the game is not as great, when the expansion is bad the game is bad, when the expansion has to little content, the game has to little content. When I put it like that it probably becomes very clear. You can't create the perfect expansion, as that would take very long, too long if players only have the content from the last expansion which really matters. If you release content more often, the quality and variety suffers, as you can't put enough time and effort into the content. An MMO lives from variety of routine and contrast of reward. The world that players are presented with should not be a linear experience otherwise the player is "done" with the game way to quickly and if you expand your MMO you should add variety and add contrast, you should render out more stuff to do, make the world and it's possibilities feel larger, not replace what ever came before. This is why classic WoW is still enjoyed so much, everything in that game is relevant to the player, nothing completely obsolete and because it's created as one single piece of content, it's expansive and feels large and alive.

What I'd really like to know is how T&E manage to have *two* babies, and still have time to play video games and make KZbin content. Me, with an 8 month old son, barely have time to take a shower, and all of my video gaming has been reduced to a couple of hours at night while baby and mom are sleeping -asuming at that moment I still have some energy left to spend in video games, which is not always the case (and in fact I'll usually end my gaming session falling asleep on the keyboard). Pretty much all of my personal interest have gone down the drain since even before my son was born. That aside, it is of course a most wonderful experience to watch oir baby grow and join him on his journey, but really now, please share the secret of there's any! Oh and good content as always, you guys are mostly what I check to see if I feel like coming back to WoW. Doesn't seem like 9.2 will pull me off of XIV, but who knows what 10.0 might bring.
