THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE THAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF MOVIES TO WATCH IN YOUR LIFETIME.

We watched this just last night and the moment the titles came on and the beautiful music started we both said, 'hey, it's a proper film!', and we knew it was going to be a million times better than the carp that passes for films these days. It's a rollicking good ride, sit back, open the bottle of wine and enjoy!

Jean was just wonderful. Like Claudette Colbert, she aged beautifully.

One of my favorites.anyone notice that the prison guard move and Elmer's where stolen for That Javier Jail incident. Good vs evil 😱

I think Colman has a nice touch for light humor even in films which aren't outright comedy, e.g. as the roguish poet Francois Villon in "If I Were King," or Sydney Carton in "Tale of Two Cities." There's also the uproarious, if absurd, "Champagne for Caesar."

wow I think this is my first time seeing Grant in a role like this. I'm usually enjoying him in comedys (eyes wide open excited!)

@ashleyg325 ~ She may have even been older than that. Though IMDB gives her birth year as 1900, I've seen other sources giving it as 1897 and 1898. Be that as it may, she was indeed remarkably youthful looking, and I love her, in everything.

@emilyteagarden Yep. Have you read her bio? It's actually a very good read. I'm a huge fan of Jean Arthur's, and if you are too, then trust me, you gotta read the bio, "The Actress Nobody Knew." Good stuff.

i wonder if this is a comedy. A little bit weird for me to see Ronald Colman in a comedy after watching him in Random Harvest, Lost Horizon and A Double Life but still, a great actor. Cary Grant on the other hand, well, great. Both are great.

I just cannot believe that Jean Arthur is 42 here. Doesn't look a day over 30.
