A very interesting and intimate story. Moreover, I'm honored you were willing to share with us such an important part of your life. Must've been a big step deciding to post this. Anyway I appreciate the effort and respect your bravery for doing so. Glad it had a therapeutical effect on you :) Yeah it's often not necessarily about losing weight but maintaining a good weight, a more healthy lifestyle and consistent attitude towards food. I admire your resolutions and genuinely wish you the best of luck. You've got my understanding and support, that's for sure!

Simon I love the courage you have to talk about this and share it with others. As much as i enjoy your video's, I would much rather have less of them. If it means your working out. Thank you so much for this Simon, I woke up today feeling really unmotivated to workout (body sore + tiredness from yesterday) But this video helped me out. This month I surpassed 100 kg's which is the most I've ever weighed. A mixture of stress from Uni and constant snacking while being in front of a computer (As a Compsci student) caused me to gain alot. I began to feel really lathargic/tired all the time untill finally I got sick of it. I hope you continue to upload more of these vlogs, It truelly does help out alot.

I just actually came back from the gym and saw this video. Simon's video reinforced my motivation to keep at it. Granted, his video made me a bit weepy like a box of wet kittens, lol.

Hey Simon, thank you for sharing the struggles you have faced. While I do not have food addiction, I was going through depression a couple years ago. It was really difficult. Glad to see you are doing better and you will definitely reach your goal.

Glad to see a video like this really puts things in perceptive. We love you Simon, we don't care about your weight because we like you the person not the look of you. But sick in there what ever you choose to do and we will support and give you help and advice when you ask for it. We are you loyalist friends. Take care mate.

Hey Simon, just one of your subs here! TBH I prefer your talks compared to your reactions, but I enjoy all the content. I hope you keep it up with the attitude because that will carry you to your goals, I know it will. I come from the opposite side of your problems, I was pretty anorexic and abhorred the thought of eating to gain weight. But I'm here now healthier. Keep us updated on your progress! Maybe we can all share our meal plans with you and whatnot. Good luck with everything!

Simon i really love watching your videos, no matter the subject. Aww, I am absolutely moved by your story, Simon. Thanks so much for sharing - please do more of these types of vlogs! :) You should definitely continue doing what you're doing to get healthier. You do inspire others, as you've inspired me, as I've told you before. To share a bit of my own story, earlier this year, I unfortunately put on more weight. When I found out that my health was deteriorating, I got more depressed. I began thinking about my own father who died from a stroke years ago. My best mate could no longer join me at the gym (for financial reasons) so I went alone for many months feeling unmotivated. It wasn't until I stumbled upon one of your Star Wars videos on KZbin that slowly, I began to feel happier and more motivated to watch more Clone Wars & Rebels. My love for Star Wars came back. Then I very shyly decided to join Twitch and you became my first Twitch followee, lol. You made me laugh many times and was grateful for each chuckle. Some of my coworkers and my mates know you by now ("Oh, you're watching HIM again, Erl"), but they started to see a positive change in me. I became more excited about life because I got something to look forward to. To be honest, I haven't drawn for nearly a year but you inspired me to get up my fat Canadian arse and I got to draw you. I thought I lost that part of me but you somehow helped to bring it back, and for that, I am very grateful to you! Anyhow, I just want to say how very proud I am of you, Simon. You go at your own pace in getting healthier and you do this for you alone. Promise me this, my friend, and I'll make this promise to myself: we BOTH get healthier so hopefully we can hang out and go to a Star Wars Celebration together (maybe even Vegas - I've never been). Maybe you can show me that Han Solo dance in person. And I'll join you... maybe after a couple of pints of beer, haha! I'm glad to call you my friend. Much hugs and love from your moose-moonwalking friend. P. S. My cat just noticed that I'm tearing up and now she won't leave me alone, lol.

Having not watched the video yet and without context....although I am not out of shape or overweight, I watch what I eat. A good way to tell if you are really hungry or if you are just bored is to think to yourself "would I eat an apple right now" and if you wouldn't eat an apple then don't eat. It seems silly but it really does work for me and helps me so I don't eat to much. Because when you are just sitting there doing nothing your body will pretend like it's hungry

I love your vids Simon! Keep up the good work. I could care less if your big or skinny. I just love your personality. That's the most important thing in my opinion. I suffered through depression, but only for a little, and that's because your videos are awesome and that's what let the depression go. To keep it short. I Watch vids to cheer me up. Mostly your videos.

Props for sharing your story and know that you are not alone. I'm having my own battle with weight and It's really hard for me because I have a big sweet tooth. So I take things day by day because i want to look and feel healthier before I turn 30. Try drinking some apple cider vinegar before bed, that helps. Fight on good sir.

Your not the only one who's overweight & has somewhat of a food addiction and I'm 22 years old. Last year I weighed 277 pounds and as of now I'm at 250 pounds thanks to the fast metabolism diet but I've been off the diet for about two months. I would of been at my weight goal if I didn't cheat so much on the diet. Almost my whole life I've been fat and that's really affected my self-esteem. I don't have any friends and food as taken their place so that's what I'm dealing with. I wish you best for you :)

Always willing to help out :) My favorite reaction series is your clone wars and death note in the words of Hondo "Im Flying!" thats how you will basically feel loosing weight I was a chubby kid I basically was 200 pounds and I didn't shop for unhealthy food for 1 year and my plan now is i spend a certian amount of money in healthy food and if i dont have any more cash left for food i cant buy junk cuz ill be broke lol but yah that plan has helped me alot and my words of advice is ... money is food ... treat your wallet to be healthy and yes i do go to the gym but mostly pokemon go xD it all depends on how much money ill spend on food or rent but i wish you luck and hope you win this!

big respect to you simon. before i forget it: As a matter of fact I just watched the 2nd austin powers movie yesterday and that's where the quote is from^^ So, tough topic i guess. I've read some comments here and it seems that making this video was a good idea. just talking about it every once in a while will help you with your weigth problem. you built up a great community and you fully deserve it. Although I'm not a fitness expert, I can maybe give you some helpful tips. 1. *never* eat something before going to sleep. I'm sure you know the feeling when you wanna go to bed but your stomach is kind of empty, which I have right now actually (god damnit). In that case I always drink a lot of water and try to not think about food. Just lying in bed with the eyes closed will make your body sleepy sooner or later. 2. I dont think that walking alone will help you lose weight. It surely does help your leg muscles but in order to burn the fat inside the body, you have to workout and sweat a lot. I was going to the gym for 2 years and there was no worse feeling for my body when i was working out for some time but at the same time there was no better feeling when it was over. Having done so much exercises in your past, you probably know the feeling. I read a comment from a guy who said you should just drink green tea and dont work hard at all. Well, even if that works (and Im not so sure about that), it wouldnt be a healthy way to get rid of that problem. Losing weight is not the only result of working out. 3. Always be aware of the amount of sugar and fat you comsume per day. But I assume you are doing that already 4. *never* eat because you are bored. I did that as well a few times in the past. I always regretted it afterwards because I wasnt even hungry. Just distract yourself with something else. For me it would always be playing on the computer and it was very effective. 5. dont have fall-backs. if you live healthy for 5 days and really unhealthy for 2, then it wont help much. I suggest you eat your last chocolate bar if you need to ( like the last cigarette) and declare in your head that now it's over for some time. you should create a food-diary before though. Of course I dont know the struggle you have to live with everyday, but Im certain that you can do it if you just want to. you are a great person and you have our support

one other thing- people say a lot that it's not the type of food it's the portion. I used to think so too. I lost weight by smaller portions because I didn't really know much about nutrition. I've been maintaining my weight for several years by eating larger portions of healthy food. try eating 10 apples some time lol. idk feeling full just feels good. but it's hard to eat "too many" apples or similar things.

just drink water more than sodas and juices and dont eat as much and exercise i know you might hear that alot but its true it can be hard trust me if you just keep exercising and not eating as much and drink water more than anything else you will see results most people give up because it takes a long time but what they dont understand is its worth the wait

Sleep really varies, between 5-7 hours a night, no real set meal plan to be honest other than dinners, which are nice balance of veg and a small meat dish. I drink quite a bit of water everyday and always have done other than that it's just 3 miles of walking per day and trying not to eat too much.

Have you ever tried yoga. people usually don't think about how much it would help them improve and grow health. anything that is not just sitting down is very good for you. You can actually just look up yoga on KZbin and I'm sure you'll find 1000 of them

Exercise is overrated Simon, screw it. I just drink cup after cup after cup of green tea and I've lost so much weight. Getting out and walking is good but don't do any hard work it's overrated!

I don't know if it's right to say that you're the only person to blame. people say that all the time and I don't think it's true. we're just born into a society that produces many of the problems that we have and unfortunately we have to fix them ourselves. but I hope you dont fall into the trap of blaming yourself when really everything's just set up against you.
