Talking german shepherd dog

This is my german shepherd dog named Roxy. She is very vocal and uses her whining as a true form of communication. Nine times out of ten I can tell what she needs the first time she whines. I like to say I learn as much from her as she learns from me :)

Yeah! They are all friends on the other side. No fighting. We lost her many years ago. I wish I knew the circumstances, but one of the family's BF was not so forthcoming of how she got away. Still hurts thinking bout it. She was old, her kidneys were bad, and she had a hard time getting up the steps, because of hip problems, but that does not mean anyone had any right to do what they did.

Mine does this all the time too :) And having seen the first comment, I will add that we have a doggy door and the pup can go outside and use the potty anytime he wants :) I previously had a sweet Saint Bernard, mostly quiet. I think this German Shepherd breed is just more vocal. It’s cute.

That dog needed to poop badly. Every German Shepard I've ever owned did a variation of that behavior when they needed to go. They know they aren't supposed to do it inside so they display their urgency in a way we can understand instead of shitting on the floor. I was kinda hoping the dog would stop placating their human and just drop a fat poo on the pretty hardwood.

One time mine actually came to me and when he got my attention, he squatted down into a pooping pose, but without actually doing it. That was a very clear way to tell me what he wanted. These animals are incredibly smart.

Any dog, especially a german shepherd that doesn't want to be around people is very unusual indeed. I wouldn't ignore that. Shepherds are typically extremely social and bond strongly. It's very hard to suggest what to try without knowing how she behaves and her demeanor though. The most common issue is no doubt fearfulness (either natural disposition, poor socialization early in life, or due to previous bad living situation), but if that's the case it should be obvious in the body language. Always low tail or in between legs - slinking around, keeping a distance from everyone, hiding much of the day, physically trying to avoid being touched ect. If that's the case then you typically just need to acclimate them, sitting with them gradually closer over time until they let you touch - and once you can show them love directly they start to open up fast and gain trust (treats can help speed up the process, but don't overrely on that to build trust). Start with one person, then when that person is trusted it's easy to use that to transfer trust to the other family members. But if it's not fearfulness and avoidance but she seems lethargic and just never engages with you or comes to you naturally (but doesn't pull away either or display fear signs) then I would definitely recommend a vet check. Animals can be hard to see are sick or in pain, but lethargy and just wanting to be left alone tends to be the first obvious sign. When they stop eating, that's another big one, but that only happens once things get really bad (imagine how sick you'd have to be to stop eating). I don't doubt dogs can miss people (or other animals), but I wouldn't overemphasize that as an option. Dogs tend to live in the moment, and it would be very unusual for a dog that feels safe, comfortable and loved where she is to be long-term depressed. At least I haven't experienced anything quite like that. Disclaimer: I'm not a dog-expert, just an empathic animal lover. Take any advice from me with a grain of salt and don't hesitate to contact a professional if you feel you need to. I just found your comment so heart wrenching I felt I had to give what advice I could. Best of luck :)

The dog needs something , probably a pee or poo. Dont think particularly well trained. The dog is behaving exactly the same as my 7month old shepherd does when he needs to go "walkies". Beautiful dog , owner needs educating , its an animal!

Those are the dog tags. And most city's/states require the dog to have them one. Also if your dog is lost or missing they can track down the owner

Except when I asked him if he wanted to go out he always got excited & happy even if he didn't have to do his business.
