This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody) is one of the most satisfying songs of all time to me. They are truly one of the most important bands ever. Their concert movie "Stop Making Sense" is a damn work of art. Starts with a boombox and acoustic guitar. Then blossoms seamlessly into the full band plus all the extra musicians and backing singers... including none other than the amazing Bernie Worrell on keys from P-Funk.
@razzleland

Norman Bates was loosely based on Ed Gein. That's a rabbit hole that's just crazy and inspired so many moves (Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of 1000 Corpses, etc.) and songs. If you want a quirky song about like you talk about at the end... Blind Melon's "Skinned"... WOW. Such a twisted song. But it's so upbeat and quirky. Plus it's got a Kazoo solo. Yeah... it's the band that did "No Rain" with the Bee Girl. But Skinned is from their album "SOUP"... which is the most underrated album of the 90s in my opinion. It wasn't a big album because Shannon Hoon, the singer, died a few weeks after it was released.

This band gives me such a visceral reaction of pure emotion and I can't really explain why. A band that truly means the world to me. Idk much about the reaction game but this early album stuff is better live. The band is pretty tight musically and I think it is a genuine disservice to them to put all the "charm" on David Byrne. You're missing on some excellent bass lines, pretty tight and rhythmic riffing. And again live these guys were jamming.

I know a lot of Talking Heads fan who would disagree with me.. but this studio version is pretty rough.. For newbies trying to get into Talking Heads and the entire music scene they represent it's best to start with the Stop Making Sense live movie.. The performance of this song in that movie blows this away.. twice the confidence in the vocal and the visual representation of the performance makes the whole thing soar.. Sorry Talking Heads fans but I'm gonna say it.. F the 'amazing bass line'. Everything about this song is done better in Stop Making Sense. Ryan and George need to just hit play on the movie STOP MAKING SENSE. it is one of our most popular reactions on our channel for a reason.

Talking Heads, I actually got to meet David Byrne in the late '80s and get his autograph outside the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA. Just west of Philly. Not as tall as you would think in person but his skin was practically translucent. I wasn't planning on getting his autograph. But I had a dream that I met him on a SEPTA bus at 2nd and Market in Philly and ended up sitting next to him having a casual chat. In the dream I sharly asked him for his autograph and he gave it to me. Later, I got the tickets to the show in upper Darby. It was during what is best described as his Latin Phase. Precognitive dream . Weird, huh? Not so much for this mystic, mind reading Pisces. LOL! All the songs suggested here are great ones. Especially Burning Down the House. But if you want to hear a T-Head song that's more fun than cryptic, more light-hearted than psychotic, check out Stay Up Late. Born in 1961, I grew up as a child of the '70s. Man, as far as music was concerned, we had it all! Love your channel, I am now a fan. PS- Just finished your reaction, you guys had me rolling on the floor laughing right along with you. Don't spread this around, but if a guy can't make me laugh out loud on the first date he is 💩 outta luck, as far as I'm concerned. I'm like, NO SOUP FOR YOU! NEXT!!!🤣 🤣🤣🤣 PPS! I absolutely loved Bates Motel! What could be better than Freddie Highmore and Vera Farmiga as Mrs Bates and her son Norman? I watched Alfred Hitchcock's terrifying classic original movie Psycho, released in 1960, starring Anthony Perkins as Norman Bates, years before that series came out. If you like Bates Motel you gotta check out that movie. Even more terrifying, and a fact that many people do not know is that that movie was adapted from a book titled Psycho, by Robert Bloch. Based on a true story about a serial killer that rivaled even Dahmer's weirdness, Ed Gein. In case you didn't guess, I am a horror and true crime fan. PPPS- Hey Ryan, I don't care what they say about you, you a'ight. That's how we compliment someone in South Philly. 😘

"You're talking a lot, but you're not saying anything" best lyrics eva! Also, one of my favorite bass line openings

Wow that is a great thing of you showcasing unknowns! Kinda like “left of the dial” back in the day. Keep up the good work!

Anytime I see anything with Talking Heads, I'm in! Love your reaction to this. My opinion, of course, is that they are the greatest band ever!!! "Heaven" "This Must Be the Place" "Road to Nowhere" - AMAZING stuff there.

The source for ALL THE BEST Talking Heads performances is the “Stop Making Sense” video. 💯

This song takes on new meaning when you actually have one enter your life and you live to tell about it.

Way back in the day Talkin Heads came to town, and because nothing much was going on David Byrne ended up on the national news being interviewed about the tour. He couldn't string 2 words together he was sooo wasted. But 4 hours later put on a great show to rave reviews. Crazy times! 🤣🤣🤣
