Also, we could have some level of respect for the Governing Body members if they acted as man well aware of their own imperfection. Instead, they claim the same authority as Moses who performed miracles and talked with God. Considering that they freely admit not to talk with God and to perform miracle, such conduct is abusive.

spellbound111 ... nobody really knows the truth about anything. ..they only know their perspective/opinion on what they have experienced & feel to be true. (I personally feel most of us are wrong about most things in life, just a little less or more wrong than others, depending on the situation;) That being said, witnesses aren't allowed to think for themselves about anything relating to the organization. They do deserve to know about the many pedophilia cases that were admitted to & discussed in Australia, as well as the millions that have been paid out in lost lawsuits of pedophilia cases by the headquarters (while simultaneously saying to their followers that there is no problems like that in God's pure organization). The fact is that witnesses (and in all honesty, most people in general) don't want to face any type of uncomfortable facts that could cause them to question their current reality, they want to stay in their simple happy bubble where nobody questions the leadership....even when blatantly being lied to. it's a lot like scientology. ..give it enough time, the bullshit will start to come to the light and the people will start seeing the Incongruency of their leaders twisted tongues....or not..doesn't really matter when all is said & done. Regardless, it's their right to believe whatever they want..... given enough time, most beliefs that people hold onto so adamantly will probably be proven false...otherwise we'd all still be believing in Greek Mythology (hell, some people still do;)

And the conversation is masterful, too, but the very act of defiance shook me more than anything else.
@steeldutchess7 жыл бұрын
Of course, the witnesses don't know his personal story and they are expected to be brainwashed, since they are ACTIVE witnesses. It's not about those witnesses in the video, it's about Me, a person who doesn't consider themself a witness, yet subconsciously is bound by their law. The point of my post was that I was shocked when Lloyd defied their law. It showed me that even I, ME, NOT brainwashed, not a Witness, was still in mental chains. To me their law was still real and in my mind, deep in my subconscious, I was bound by their law and would not talk to them knowing that I am disfelloweshipped, knowing that by their laws I am no longer human. Don't you see? Deep inside their brainwashing affected me that much that I would agree with their decision that I am no longer human and should NOT be given the privilege of communication. And THAT is why it's fucked up. And that is why their brainwashing is powerful. Lloyd shows me that he IS free from their laws and he does not agree with being treated as a non-human. He sees himself a human with the right to communicate with whoever he pleases. However, he knows that witnesses won't see it that way, he knows that they will obey the law and will refuse him communication, that's why he doesn't inform them that he is disfellowshipped, but doesn't outright lie to them, either. He says "I have family who are witnesses", which is true.
@tinaalvarado6127 жыл бұрын

Because i really used to think that that would be the only way to get away from these nutters. Eventually, i just put my foot down on my 12th birthday and said, -I'm m not coming to another meeting. Period. Long Long story short..I agree with you. You don't become free from this if you concentrate your whole life on returning to it in this way. At the same time, if someone dedicates their life to helping other people to see the deception and become free from brain wash and they feel this is the way to do it and it doesn't become a burden for them..then, who am i to judge? Still, i myself have been free for more than 3 decades now, and i sometimes take a look at these videos to see how many other people are finally breaking the chains. It makes me happy.

Having grown up as a Jehovah's Witness, and now being on the other side, I can say unreservedly, that this is the absolute best way to have a meaningful discussion with a JW. Not argumentative or disrepectful, but letting them speak so you can see what they are thinking. As I watched the video, I had flashbacks of that deep-in-your-gut feeling of dread when someone with intelligent arguments starts bringing up points you really can't refute. David did as good a job as one could do, but I guarantee he went home that night and thought a LOT about what was said. They do not respond to anger or attacks. So Ruben Ortiz's hypothesis worked. I usually let them preach to me and say what they want. Then I start asking questions about the things they're preaching about until they mention Armageddon and that's when I ask them: "What's Armageddon?" As soon as the mention something about war or destroying then my next question will be: "I thought Jehovah hated violence? How come he's using it as a solution of our problems?" I would say like 90% of the time, they stay at least 5 seconds in the limbo, thinking of what I just ask them about and 100% of the time they'll give me an unsatisfactory answer

Armageddon is a frightening word to many, however, the bible speaks of Armageddon as the place of a righteous war fought by God. - Rev 16: 14, 16 This war of God will prepare the way for a righteous new world. Unlike the wars of men, which kill both the good and the bad, Armageddon will destroy only the bad. Consider the blessings when the wicked will no longer be: 1) All humankind at peace. Ps 72:7 2) No more war. Ps 46: 8, 9 3) Fine homes & enjoyable work for everyone. Isa 65: 21-23 4) Crime, violence, wickedness will be gone. Ps 37: 9, 10 5) A paradise earth. Ps 37: 29 6) Plenty of good things for all to eat. Ps 72: 16 ; 67: 6 7) No more sickness, old age or death. Rev 21: 3, 4 8) The dead are brought back to life. Rev 20: 13 Who wouldn't want to walk anywhere at any time of the day or night w/o fear of being harmed? Only a promised paradise earth govern by righteous ruler (Jehovah & Jesus Christ) can fulfill these.

Hello Robin......Nice to know you left. The good news is still fast approaching. Things are going to change rather quickly this year and especially next year. Be on the watch for current daily news especially Jerusalem. Read you a kjv or a nkjv bible. The father draws out people to seek his Son. ........which is our Lord and Savior. It's you that must State aloud and confess that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and believing in your heart that God rose him from the dead on the 3rd day as script states. And also being baptized in the name of the Father,the Son and the Holy spirit in jesus Christ name, which doesnt matter on local just that you are submerged in water or even in your own bathtub. Anyone that believes in Christ can baptize you. So your sins can be forgiven believe in his son and do Gods commandments. Most importantly believing in his Son. We are not saved by works, but by grace. The Antichrist is false religion and their false doctrines. I believe you can read revelation chap-1-3 Jesus is here stating that what he has against all churches or groups of faith. From there you will understand that as he mentions in those verses that you have left your first Love, which is Truth, which we were all looking for when we entered into some type of religion. Remember Jesus is the way the TRUTH and the life. Jesus is the way. Read your bible daily and get to know who our Father and His Son who sanctified us through his blood to cleanse us of our sins. He lives in us in the spirit and your Shepard is Jesus...Not man and the holy spirit helps you to understand scripture. I really hope this helps you and blesses you. Stay clear away from JW bible it has been changed so much and takes the Lords NAME out many times replacing it with Jehovah. There is still hope sister. Dont lose faith your sister in Christ.

That "How did God declare a certain religion to be his" question is the favorite question for Mormons. They assert that it's either them or the Catholics. A religion that was started by Jesus (kind of?) or that a full, hands-on "restoration" was required, which they claim to have been started by. I'm surprised that JWs don't take that same sort of stance since they, the mormons, and probably a half dozen other religions all were started right about that time in the religious ferver of the early to mid 1800s.

I had to listen again to the discussion because the captions said 1940 but the question might have been 1914. In 1940 Germany was waging war against the rest of Europe. Eastern Europe had been taken over by Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, the low countries and France had been taken over, Italy joined the War, and the Battle of Britain was raging. So if you didn't live in the United States, 1940 wasn't such a good time to live, especially if you were Jewish, or Romano Gypsy or Bible Student living in Germany or Europe. If the question was 1914 which may have been the case because the fellow said something about being prior to WWI then he still has it wrong, because WWI began in July of 1914 and things were pretty bad all around in Europe. Expected life spans in 1914 were much shorter, medicine was not very advanced, in general people did not have the creature comforts we have today. Working conditions in industry were dangerous and horrendous. Most people were paid just above the sustenance level. Even in the United States, the most industrialized nation on the planet in 1914, most people still did not have electricity in their homes in 1914. I don't know if this gentleman's ignorance is so much being a Jehovah's Witness or being an American. Maybe a combination of both? Certainly in all of human history, there is no better time than the present time to live, even despite the crazy political circumstances happening in some countries. But for most places on this planet, and more generally enlightened places, this is the best time to be living, hands down.
