It's incredible how pundits forget how Liverpool were decimated by injuries last season, and talk about how the players didn't deliver but so easily see Man City and Arsenal's injuries as justifiable reasons for the drop in performance. But if the other two pick up injuries as usual we have 2 CB's................. If they werent injury prone I would be happy with the 4 as options. Up front we have Jota who again has a horrible injury record. Doent just miss a game, it tends to be a few games at a time. Chiesa hasnt even played because he is crocked. We have Salah Diaz and Cody. Nunez will hopefully keep scoring. But we really only have 4 up front for 3 places. In a busy period that isnt enough. CM........... We have Macca Grav Dom Jones and Endo. Yes we need a number 6 big time. Even at that we are still light for busy periods. From a Feyenoord fan. I'm amazed how they're still downplaying what Arne Slot is doing. Yes, he inherited a great squad, sure... he also had to fill the shoes of an icon in Klopp. That's not easy, and people thought they'd fall off. He needed to get superstars to buy into his vision despite them probably having doubts given he hadn't been in the PL before. He had those stars buy in, and then some! "We haven't seen him yet responding if things turn bad" Slot has shown at Feyenoord that he's ALSO capable turning a club with limited financial capabilities and an average squad completely around. He has faced adversity in his time with us and managed it amazingly. These people were talking him down since he "was only from the Eredivisie", now that he's showing what he's capable of they're still making excuses instead of giving credit. Of course we aren’t title favorites as we near enough have exactly the same squad as last season minus Matip and Thiago, with an injury prone winger brought in as our only summer signing. We have had so many injuries during the last few seasons, yet people seem to think we can still win the league this season when we lack squad depth. I know that as soon as we pick up a number of injuries that we will end up struggling as our back up players lack the same quality as our first choices. If you take out Konate, VVD, Grav, Mac Allister, and Salah out of our 11 we are fucked. You only have to look at 2021 season when we lost all of our CB’s and the following season after that we lost most of our midfielders, so losing a number of players in the same position can happen at the same time. I’m not trying to be negative here, I’m just being realistic. As far as I’m concerned, it’s City’s title to lose.

I'm a Liverpool supporter and I agree with Simon we are playing as a team that would not win the league in previous seasons. However City and Arsenal are also playing poorly so this is probably the chance we have to do something. League is wide open in my opinion and anyone can win it.

Liverpool have played Arsenal away, Chelsea at home, AC Milan away, Man UTD away, Brighton away - won them ALL and drawn with Arsenal. So they have played plenty of tough games. Brighton could have been 3rd in the league if they won at the weekend
