England (who have just as good a squad) as per previous tournaments sat back, defended for large parts of the game and it seems to be a similar story with Southgate. He plays people out of position (Foden) and he is overly cautious. England fans want to win the tournament, they couldn’t care less whether we win 1-0 v Serbia. It’ll be the match against Germany, or France, or Spain etc that is the important one. @@DRIVER-SEBVET Bowen is a perfect example of Moyes putting pace into his attack at West Ham. The issue is they can't break down low blocks. Which is probably why he had Scamacca before that but West Ham weren't set up to accommodate him.

Of course, Moyes is on a different planet....planet cuckoo land if he thinks England did a great job. Like Alex said, the only reason we won cos Serbia were shite up front. Let's hope things change against Denmark. Of course, it could be a lot worse, we could have played like Scotland.

Im surprised David doesn't get Alex and Simon's question. In -game management skills are just as important as your pre game tactics. If you cant adapt to the opposition, it will be like Italy, Croatia and Framce all over again.

@russellbonell4 ай бұрын
Moyes would often make a sub if the game was going well for west ham and not when we were up against it so there really is no point asking him. Its the difference between the elite managers and the sub par. If managers like moyes and southgate were playing poker and had a royal flush they still wouldn't go all in, just in case.
@tomaswezzy4 ай бұрын
Summary: Reactive, defensive manager back another reactive defensive manager. Honestly the whole ‘well what if the subs make the team worse’ argument is stupid. The whole point is England have an amazing bench so a good coach can utilise strengths of their subs and the fact they are fresh to positively influence the game. This exact mentality is why he was never the right fit for united.

Did Moyes just wake up from a 10year coma? Name one tournament under Southgate where weve grown in to the competition. Its never happened. We limp tbrough games, make it difficult to beat teams we should be dispatching easily, and we lose to teams in/around our rankings. We've never started strong with impressive performances. We dont dominate any teams. In game management is nom existent. Same story in every competition. The England team displays a shocking disparity between the talent on the pitch versus the staff in the dugout. Some of those players must be wondering who the hell put him in charge
@jonmartin97324 ай бұрын
What are you on about, 2020 the only time we limped over was Scotland, we beat Germany comfortably and we actually beat the teams , for once , that we were expected to beat, from 2004 we have struggled to get anywhere, we didn’t even qualify for 2008, 2010 was dreadful 2012 was dreadful, 2014 and 2016, only after that we actually started to compete again and get past the last 16 for so many years.

It is not difficult to put players in the position that they play for their clubs is it? You don't need a coaching badge to do that do you? No surprise that Moyes is defending the team selections, tactics and slow play. He LOVES it. It is what he did at West Ham for the past 2-3 years.
