As a Sporting fan if you are expecting Ruben Amorim to perform a miracle and make this Uniteds side a champion contender, then forget about it. I think Amorim can make this Uniteds side reach a top 6-7 at best. After that, you gonna have to start to look at better players if you want to fight for the league. Apart from the defenders, Mainoo and Ugarte, the rest is no where near good enough to take you up to a tittle contender. I wish Ruben luck but he will have an insane job ahead to transform this squad. I think he can be your Arteta, but still might not be enough to compete with City and Liverpool.

@@Cornwall1888 Its a different fitness as NBA is alot more sprint than long distance, regardless its still extremely demanding on the body. Football has too many games currently if you play in every competition and have deep runs as the body needs to recover from a long distance run. Adam Silver has looked into reducing NBA games in a season for the same reason, athletes are paid well but they are being over worked hence why so many injuries are happening despite better playing conditions and diet etc

Odd as it seems I think Haaland would score more if he played for a team that plays a different style. He makes so many runs that are ignored in favour of going side to side. Whilst possession football is excellent at times, if a team is difficult to break down then look for forward runs and try to slip him in. That's how many of his goals come.

Modern game is full of data analysts and sport scientist having too much influence. The game allows for 5 subs a match now. Rather than games they should calculate how many minutes the players are playing compared to the past. The older players would have played more minutes and fitness naturally dropped throughout the season. That’s what made a great team, they performed the best. They expect the same standard throughout the season.
