My way of remembering is a little unusual. I know the brain remembers what is crucial information to one's environment and surroundings so to help me remember new vocab I spend all day every day listening to Korean so that my brain thinks it's now a natural part of my everyday life and it makes it more important to remember new words as essential information and there's so many words and structures that my brain remembered after the first encounter because of it. About once a month I go through things I've studied to see if anything needs a refresher but for the most part I trust that my brain will remember what it most frequently encounter and piece the pieces together similar to how a native speaker did as a child. I think I spend 13 hours a day with Korean in my ears one way or another either actively or passively and so when I go through lessons I often recognize the words from all the listening. What's cool about this immersion technique is that I can tell that I'm starting to develop a feel for what sounds natural or unnatural. It's not the fastest way to learn but I like making a new language feel intuitive so a lot of the content I listen to I don't understand most of it and I'm okay with that. I know the brain still analyzes, listens, recognizes and works hard in the subconcious. I understand key words enough to stay interested in the story of a podcast or audiobook or the likes and what I don't understand builds eagerness to understand and fuels my passion to study more because it reminds me to not get complacent with the intermediate plateau.

Lots of reading and listening. You'll come across the most commonly used phrases and words and they'll get cemented in your long-term memory over time

I try speaking sentences, words, phrases etc. to family members and explaining what they mean to reaffirm what I have learned!👍 Good video, I like it 😊

do you just casually add in into conversation? I’m wondering bcs it seems affective but I’m unsure how to go about it ☠️

@@jongseobsmom Effective* (Affective is of or relating to Emotions. Effective is relating to achieving a desired result) Well, I am still learning basic things about the Korean Language. But when I learn a word, I try to memorise it from learning it in a book or learning it from some of TTMIK's videos. I've also changed my samsung galaxy s10+ to include Korean in the keyboard, so that I can type in Korean. I find it helps a lot while learning the language. I speak to my mother about what the words or sentence I'm learning means and sounds like, then try using an example sentence about things I'm doing. Very basic sentences like "I like coffee." 저는 커피 좋아해요. Or "I took the dogs on a walk" 나는 개들을 산책시켰다. Or simply saying "거피요!" if I'm asked what drink would I like (Coffee, in the polite form using the 요 to make it a sentence.) then thank you as "감사합니다". I hope some or any of that was helpful. I find TTMIK very helpful 🙂 they have a lot of informative videos!

I always listen to the TTMIK lessons first, then read them in the testbook and after that I do the questions in the workbook. I think it's a great combination of listening, reading and writing (I only have to find a way to speak more). 🙂

I try to create sentences that could fit my life. Eg. I dont like swimming so it wouldn't make sense for me learning how to say Every week I go to swimming pool and swim for 3 hours 😂 So if I study those rules and words as an example, i would customize I would customize it changing words but keeping the grammar rules. On the other hands I simply skip words that I know im not gonna use soon. Eg at the beginning I skipped everything related to weather (but just a few) because I knew they were totally unuseful in my country! But I learnt some cosmetics name or parts of the face as I work as a makeup artist and sometimes Ive korean customers :)
