My family and I have talked about some time in the future buying a cafe or small restaurant. I have always been mindful of wheelchair accessibility but seeing you guys travel and try to find places has opened my eyes so much more. When we buy it I will make every aspect of it as accessible as possible. No stairs, open floor plan, any eating utensils for people unable to hold regular cutlery, accessible bathroom with a heavy duty bench like a changing table but one that can support someone of Shane’s size and weight for anyone that needs it and even have a little portable ramp for the curb if it needs it. Thank you guys for showing you life like this and educating us.

Those stair lift are interesting. It just blends in seamlessly to the floor! Cool accessibility idea that also preserves architecture. Elevators are still more convenient but this is super cool.

Sadly, in order to make the ramp useable, it would have to be of a variable length, the incline angle needs to be quite shallow and that usually makes a portable one that could go on the chair, impratical.

To me a big part of why this couple is so compatible is that they are willing to give and take. I like the way Shane is not constantly thanking Hannah for everything she does. It is a given that he's thankful and she is willing.

@Tolkien!Fan it would appear that you dont have experience with relationships. They are always a give and take. That's just how it is. I don't mean it as an insult but the way so dont be offended. Even bad relationships are like that. I have seen a few relationships that appear one sided such as a person sho does more for the other but....its a big but....as long as that one giving person is not alone then the other person is filling a purpose.

It is an old city! So it's hard not destroying that, while still being accessible. I do agree though, that there could be so much more, that could be done for accessibility. Just some ramps (that aren't too far apart and accessible for any wheelchair and strollers) would do so much, and wouldn't be too much of a problem to install... But it takes a lot of planning, money and time for cities to establish more accessibility... So they usually and unfortunately don't do it as fast as they should...

When I watch these videos, I become so much more aware of how basic accessibility of buildings is such a focal point for people with disabilities & how everywhere is not always accessible if you'rein a wheelchair. Shane & Hannah searched for a while before they found a restaurant that didn't have stairs and those are things I take for granted & wouldn't even give a second thought to. I appreciate them shedding light on that. It makes me more aware & compels me (when I see an inaccessible building for wheelchairs) to push for change in my community & advocate for wheelchair accessible entrances to be commonplace. These are enlightening (and funny) videos.
