SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY setter trends for every SWAC MEAC and must PDW bands... Swag Jacking SU is something that had to be done of you want to make an impact and Talladega is no exception to the rule... their whole scheme of their band uniform is pretty much an exact imprint of SU's except for the color schemes.. Plus, the band director for Talladega is a member of (The Jaguar Nation).. So that makes Talladega the offspring of Southern University.. SU, you are the father! Lol

I hate when people say TC is a wanna be SU. How? Because they cranking? Because they imitate a SWAC marching style? How many other bands crank and have hang overs? All SWAC bands do some form of marching that looks like SU or to say each other. Y'all been saying that shit since they came up. TC is not like SU.

Original, their playing style and the marching style. You can barely hear southern's trumpets. TC is far more balanced. TC doesn't march like SU. They march like TC. It's a uniform bro, that's like saying SU drum major steals his boots from txsu and the no cape from J-State. Even if they are "copies" that takes nothing away that right now that they're the shit right now and you're just another guy with the same opinion of 100+ people Get in line. TC in my opinion needs to clean up their quality of sound. Not just the hanging over at the end of the song, I think it's because they have breathing problems... they have the power just needs some cleanliness. Alcorn was terrible.

I hate when college bands sound like big high school bands. No balance at all. Seems like both bands are just playing the notes as loud as they can. It's one thing to be loud and sound good, but just being loud doesn’t make your band good. Learn your basics and work on your technique.

catergory3kane I don't have time to be going back and forth with you about this. I know music, that's my life. In this video they are not making music. I don't care if you don't like it or not. That's probably the reason why "Alcorn" sound the way they do, because the members may have the same attiude that you have. Maybe tjey don't know how to listen to each other. Then again it may be because whomever is arranging the music really don't know how to write, or the band members can't read music. With that being said I'm done with this little debate or whatever you want to call it. I'm not trying to break them. I said what i said so it could get back to the band so they could take the comment and work on it.

Theres no decisive winner between TC and ALCORN because of poor execution in their cues, timing, and no clarity in there sound. TC is a young, up and coming band that still got alot to learn to ever be on SU, JSU, UAPB,NCA&T level to be considered as a calibur and well rounded band. Blowing your lungs out the bell of your horn don't make the sound no better. The method of how these bands are being taught is totally out of wack and need re-evaluation. 1 band 1 sound isn't just a movie slogan, it is how true hbcu bands should be.

Alcorn didnt still txsu arrangement of June 27th if u knew your history Gip txsu band director graduated from alcorn he wrote it for alcorn first n changed it a lil when he became director at Txsu.Txsu got them scholarships this year people need to looking into going there they rebuildn..2014 season gone be great for them.

Alcorn as well as Talladega I don't want to take any thing away from your work I just think that we should work on quality and uniformity not playing loud because other types of programs belittle the style because of bad musicianship, but there is nothing wrong with the style its bad musicianship. HBCU band fans don't know about musicianship so that means we should introduce them to it
