Love how they simply mirrored the ship's underside for the top side since the ship was only ever seen from a below angle in the show. A bit lazy tbh but that makes this probably the most symmetrical ship in the game (apart from a Borg cube). Also stats and feature wise, this seems a very solid ship. Especially for F2P players who are gunning for their first T6 ship. Q knows i would have loved to have that thing when i first started out playing! Looks like it can easily handle any content if built right.

I actually made a really decent plasma isomag build on it using complex plasma fires trait and the gorn Hunter console , for a free ship ? It just sings in elite content and I was shocked ,,, err ,,, Tembah his eyes wide !! Great breakdown as always and thanks for years of awesome posts :)

This is a ship I might claim, but I doubt I’ll do much more than briefly mess around with it. Like you say, it’s a solid ship for what it is, but it’s not super interesting. Last years winter ship, however… I still bring it out fairly often (it has my AP build for endeavors), and it is still a delight to fly.

If not a bit more powerful. STO has never remotely followed ST when it comes to ships very well.

This is a classic late 2360s model, but that federation ship you are flying is actually an early 2410s whatever class with custom livery to look like some classic because we are taking post-scarcity to new and exciting extremes.

Very comprehensive review. Although I like the ship my suspicions have been confirmed about the console being lack luster. I suppose we cant complain really given its a free ship, but what makes me smile is it will probably end up in the muds store next year for 30 mill Zen 🙂. I like it for being a 5/3 cruiser with a very high turn rate. Don't really care about the rest.

Woah woah woah! You watch your mouth when talking about my Tholian Tarantula. I put my heart and soul into that ship. Besides, it has access to [Elite Mesh Weavers] unlike that freebie you're talking about :P All joking aside, too bad STO is too scared to update older ships. Premium turds shouldn't be a thing....

The console would have been good if it were all shields at 0, or better yet, if facing shield is at 0. The quantum phase torpedo with spread2 or spread3 can take the shields down on everything but the beefiest enemies. BUT just does huge shield damage, it doesn't knock the shield system offline. I made a thread about this in the forums feedback but no one else jumped onto it. So it didn't get any momentum. It would have been good for a sci build vs many smaller ships. If the console were Shield Facing down like the trait, the console could actually be good. But just as it sits, that's a really hard sell. Now then, the trait, if paired with some good shield drains, would be great as a support ship trait. With BFaW. You won't be the top DPS, but you could make your teammate's DPS soar. I plan on using this on a very special sci-toon. I have a huge-CtrlX gwell3 build that'll be using scatter volley along with as much shield drains as possible. If i could gather up and shut down every ship in a 12km radius, i could support my DPSer teammates. All my glass cannon homies could relax for a bit and do what they do best.

Hopefully it has a console or trait i can use otherwise it will go in my dry dock graveyard or the account bank lol. I ll use my ruin of enemies. and my other great traits

No customization I take it? Are the weapons that come on it upgradeable, like the Hysperian's were?

Weren't the Hysperian:s weapons litteraly just standard disruptors with a wierd name?

@@peterhans3791 Yeah, they were, but that is novel and useful if you wanted to do a build focused entirely on Event gear, as there isn't any other weapon cohesive even as much as the Disruptor beams (that when poked with the Upgrade tool went up to Mk XII common). Just being able to get that instantly is handy. Going Event only for gear has been kinda sad really, as there's stuff like Mk XIII Purple AP beam Event reward, but you can only use one...

The sad part is I think people are suckers for spending lobi just to get the video out first but it works so.. I figured this was more aimed at pvp players as most the free ships I think are lol.

How is this considered a free ship? Correct it's not costing anyone money but it will cost you your time which is more valuable considering you can't get time back you can get money back anytime so I really hate the term free used so loosely the term free is apparently used on ones idea of what's free. Free would be considered to cost you no money and none of your time am I correct. Understanding what the meaning of the word you implied is irrelevant at this point and the term free apparently it's not a free ship then.
